Dear Friends,
I am so excited for spring to arrive. I know that it is spring but with snow and cold it doesn't feel like spring just yet.
The picture above reminds me of my Mom's flower gardens. She had such a magical touch when it came to growing flowers and plants of many kinds. When our cousins or neighbors would visit and just be in awe of her gardens. And best of all, she would share starts with all of us. We are so blessed to have starts in our gardens as a sweet memory of her.
I have been so excited about Easter and I just found out today that another part of our family will be attend and believe it...as I am typing yet another says they are coming too! Now we will have a full house and that is just the way I like it!
Spring cleaning continues and tomorrow I will do some of the baking and planning! Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Good Morning Friends,
I did just a little decorating this morning and thought I would share! Click on the photo to see the little rabbit!

I have been cleaning and getting ready for Easter dinner. I am so looking forward to a day of family and laughter!
So what is on your menu? Since I have been trying to lose a few pounds I am going to try to have some health choices for each of us! And I have one that can not have dairy products so I try to work it out for all of us!

Seven layer salad/fat free dressing
Deviled eggs
Relish tray
Ham
Turkey
Mashed potatoes
gravy
corn casserole
Strawberry Pretzel dessert
Fruit Sunrise
Punch/coffee

Now this is what I have planned so far. Do you want to share your menu? I would love to hear what you are having!

Facing Life With Tough Choices!!

Sometimes it's good to take the time to keep things real so while I was looking at my silver set I was thinking about all the things that are going on in my life. I know we all have a story and we all go through periods of testing. Right now I am being tested. I have lost my Mom and my Dad and I miss them desperately. But at the same time that they passed away I also lost my sister, niece and nephew because of greed and control. How sad when you see your sister, who had been your best friend, turn into a stranger. It makes you evaluate what is important in life. For the first time in my life I now understand that the love of money is the root of all evil.
My Mom was always about people. I have decided that I too will be about people and not money and control. I will not waste my time on this earth fighting when I can spend my life with family who loves me..laughing and growing together.
Right now my sister is fighting to try to control me and my birthright. But I guess she doesn't know me at all because I will sell it all just to be free of her. My Dad would be sad to know that she was the reason his empire came to an end, that she destroyed what he worked his whole life to build. My other siblings were so excited to each own a farm and we had such wonderful plans but all our plans and dreams are destroyed because of her need to try to control us and feed her greed.
So, we will sell, we will be free of her and she can find her happiness in her greed.
Nothing will bring our parents back and nothing can mend what she has done. But, I can be free and that is just what I am going to do..be free to be who I am without having to look over my shoulder to see what she is plotting and planning. I will shake the last dirt of my fields off my feet and walk away...into freedom.

I don't want you to think that this is the end...oh no..this is a new beginning. New relationships and if you missed my announcement earlier, I will be starting a new and exciting venture very soon. And dear friends you will be with me the whole way through. I will begin sharing all the details very soon.So be of good cheer, I have so much planned!
And when I get the dust off of me I will share it all!

More owls and Much More

Dear Friends, I have yet another owl to share with you, this time it is not as glam but still fun. I am testing many different patterns before I settle on one that I like. This one is pretty cute and a nice size. I am debating on making one that has a flat bottom for sitting on a shelf so we will see how that goes!

This little, or rather large, bird is tangled in the green for a cute  way to display. I actually took him off my mantle for this picture.

And one more change. I have have added a little green. Not sure if you can tell but I am moving furniture and cleaning and changing and will share soon.

Owls, Owls and Owls

Hello Dear Friends,
I have been dabbling a little with a few small crafts. My dd seems to be loving owls and wanted me to help her make a few so we googled patterns and started with scraps and buttons that we had around the house!
I must admit I think they are pretty cute!

Now this one had a little glam and has found a place in my home. I had purchased a chennile bedspread and decided it was time to use it.

Then for some reason I got a little side-tracked and made a stocking.
The top has a row of roses that I am in love with.

Then I found a little pumpkin pattern and I decided to give it a try too.
But finally, I got back on track and worked on a few more owls.

This one has burlap wings  and will be a wonderful addition to a mantle! Do you have a favorite?

Recovering!

Dear Friends,
I just wanted to let you know that my dear fil ended up having three surgeries in nine days, did I mention he is 86 years old. He had the surgery to remove the stones in his liver duct but the surgeon was concerned that he saw a tumor and insisted that he be sent to a larger hospital that had different equipment.
But when the did the ekg they found blockage in his heart so he had to have a heart cath to inspect his heart.
Then off to Toledo for another surgery to see about the tumor but thank the Lord, it turned out to be three more stones. This poor man has the most yellow skin and eyes that you have ever seen but the doctors seem to think that he will recover quickly.
He is such a sweetie, he has been worried out all the time we have spent with him at the hospital and at their home with my mil who has dementia.
But honestly, my mil became so agitated and disoriented that we had to place her in a home for a short term stay until things return to normal. She didn't know us and she was so upset that we were in her home. Honestly, she thinks she has only been at the home since noon...everyday. She is not unhappy because there are people to watch. She also has congestive heart failure so watching people is about all she can do.
Thank you all for your prayers. I know that my fil will recover quickly since you have surrounded him with prayers!

On another note, I do have a few things to share that I have been working on when I have a few minutes...so stop back tomorrow!

Prayer Please

My Father-in Law had surgery yesterday and will have another today, would you say a prayer for him? He is a young 86 and takes care of his wife who is terminally ill. He has had a difficult week  being in the hospital and worried about her too. They have been married 62 years.
I am so thankful for your prayers.
I do have a small project to show you when things calm down.

The begin of Spring decorating

Dear Friends, This is the beginning of my spring decorating. Not much but it is so cold and snowy that it is hard to decorate for spring. I did see a project I am going to work on so maybe then I will feel more like redecorating. Blessings to each of  you.
