Mr. Frosty

I made this snowman last night and I think he is so adorable. He was quick and easy. If you use Need'l Love patterns then you will already know him. I use a lot of their patterns and I am never disappointed with any of them. I must admit that I had a star to go on his shoulder but to tell you the truth I thought it made him look like a sheriff! LOL Hope you enjoy Mr. Frosty...he is now on top of my cabinets and will remain there for the duration of winter. Until next time, be blessed.

Reindeer cross stitch complete

I found the materials and finally finished the framing today. I hung it in my bathroom...yes bathroom. My entire bathroom becomes a winter wonderland in November so why not start just a little early! This is not the first Christmas item I have out. My dept.56 North Pole village is out also...and that is just the beginning.
This morning we had about an inch of snow when I left at 7am. I actually had to scrape my windows. If I had thought to get a picture...I was too cold to even consider that.LOL Of course it turned to rain and now just cloudy so maybe that is the end of the snow until December 24th...maybe.
I also picked up a cute little snoman block set. It looks so cute on my window sill...I will post a pick of it tomorrow. Until then, be blessed.

Dash Away All

Yes, I am finally done!!! Really this was a very easy pattern. It is called Dash Away all by Hinzeit. I didn't spend much time working on it or I could have had it done so much sooner. I will take it to get the materials to frame it this coming week and then I will show you the final project and maybe even where I am going to hang it. Yes I am going to hang it now...it's not too early for me!!!LOL. By the way, each deer has a little bell hanging on its' neck..not sure if you can make that out in the picture!
I can now move on to another project...I still need to decorate the kitchen and finish a stitching project for a friend. But tomorrow is Sunday and I am going to take a break and do something different for a change...don't know what that might be...lol
Hope you have a good Sunday and until next time, be blessed.

It is raining and cold today. I was outside cleaning the garage and there was no way that I was going to share a picture of that. Does anyone else have a hard time keeping your garage cleaned out. I live with an acutioneer who is also a messy...I love him dearly but he can make a mess faster than I can clean it. LOL
So we took many things out and I am waiting for our junk man to come and he will load and haul away whatever else I don't want. So between yesterday and today I think maybe one more day on saturday and it will be ready for two cars>>>>yeah....
I didn' want to share those pictures...just too embarrasing...so some of you asked if I ever put the pumpkins on both sides of our front steps so I am sharing that picture today.
I am working on some stitching, remember the reindeer cross stitch that I was working on? Well it is almost done. It was a quick one I just haven't worked much on it until now. So I am headed upstairs to work on changing out dressers with my daughters. It is ring around the rosey with furniture today and then hopefully we will settle any furniture for now. That would be nice. Thanksgiving is so close and I have so much to do...so little time. Have a great day and until next time, be blessed!

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
So here is my list.

3. I detest painting even though it seems like that is all I do.
4. I put up my Christmas tree before Thanksgiving because my sisters like it better when it is up...so all my Thanksgiving decorations are down by then.

6. I adore my children but want them to be independent even though I find it hard to let them go.
7. I can not teach my children to drive...it makes me so nervous!lol
Now I am suppose to tag 7 more people so here we go...
Well...instead if you want to join the fun go ahead and copy the tag and leave a comment so I can come and read your seven things!!! Until then, be blessed.

New color for the kitchen

Actually the paint that I decided on was a dark taupe. After I completed the paint job...my family thought it was very drab so off I went to lowes to find a color for an accent wall. I decided on Barn door red...which when placed on the wall looked like pink lipstick so back to Lowes to have them darken it to cranberry. It is a nice color but not the actual color that I was going for. Everyone seems happier but I haven't decided if I will go and get yet another color mixed and repaint that wall or just leave it for now. I tryed to show you a picture so you could see both colors together...and then one with just the cranberry wall. I have not started to decorate the kitchen yet until I decide about the wall color. I found a beautiful rug but I would need to make the color a little more red if I go with it. Oh, just too many decisions.
This week I would like to finish the kitchen one way or the other and then maybe spruce up the back porch a little before it gets too cold. I have to mow the front yard, a few appointments, lessons with the girls and just the normal stuff too...
The weather has been so beautiful that I almost don't want to be working inside but I have much to do before Thanksgiving and the only way to do it is to stay on task each day...so for now I have to work on the kitchen and make those decisions about paint color and new rugs....hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Until then, be blessed.

My birthday and more

Well, today is my birthday and I am taking a breather with the girls but I thought I would show you what I am working on right now. Seems like there is never a dull moment here so I decided to strip the wallpaper off my kitchen because I wanted to paint it and freshen things up before the holidays. So here is the wallpaper that is on the kitchen now...it is a marblized brown. I know it is hard to tell the color.
This is the wallpaper that was under the brown. It is a pink flowered paper. It is actually very pretty but I am not much into pink or flowers in the kitchen so I thought I would strip it off too.
This is the mess that I ran into when I wanted to take the old pink paper off.

DH has been working on the wall to make it as good as new..and it is starting to look really nice. This is what it is looking like now.

Trying to choose colors is a difficult job....I was thinking about a burnt orange but I forgot to take a picture of the swatch.

Well... I am not going to show you which color I did choose but it will be finished soon. So after my day of rest today and some special birthday cake later...tomorrow I will be back at work! Until then, be blessed.

A autumn house and another pumpkin

Well, we are off to pick up our daughter at the airport. She spent the last few days in New Your City with a friend. So while I am gone today I thought I would share a pic of one more pumpkin that I forgot to show you and a house that I made a few years ago. I tryed to give you a pic of each side. I have red burning bushes on one side and a corn shock on another. The front door has bittersweet stitched around it and another has a large green bush. LOL I know you have to use your imagination on some of it but I did enjoy making it. I have a Christmas one and a winter one designed but I haven't got it started yet...we will see if I make the time to get them done soon. So have a great day and be blessed.

Pumpkins and things

I've been working on a few decorations for my mantle. They actually have more stitching on them than you can see. They were easy to make and the girls loved the weird pumpkins. I have a few more things to make but I didn't know if I should start on some for Christmas instead??
I worked on painting the kitchen ceiling. It took three coats to make it look even. My kitchen is a 15 by 15 so it took a while to get that done. I am too tired to do much clean-up tonight so for now the kitchen is a little messy but tomorrow is another day. I'll be by to visit. Until then be blessed.

New shutters for my garden shed

After visiting Tammy at http://countrygirlathome.blogspot.com/ I knew I had found the shutters for my new garden shed. If you visit her etsy shop you will see her amazing shutters in different finishes. I asked that mine be shipped unfinished since I knew they would have to match my color choice on my building. Tammy is a sweet person and is very careful to get all the details for size and ect. Once we finally had all the information settled her dear husband made them to order and shipped them quite quickly. We are so pleased with the quality of materials and the finished product. Thanks Tammy for working with me. When this large package arrived I knew what it had to be. We also ordered a pair of swing doors but that story is for another day...today it is about my garden shed.

The painting begins..the weather was too cool to paint outside so I put the shutters on the back porch and started the process...two started two to go!

Finally, the painting is done...now go to the building for some measuring.

This is the window where we are starting to hang our new shutters...there is excitment in the air...well at least I am excited.

Once all the measuring was done the first shutter is finally up...it is so much fun to see the changes taking place.

The first set...aren't they grand?

Well, this is the garden shed after all 4 shutters are up and ready to go. I think it really changes the look of the building. I really did think of painting them red but the shutters on our garage are green so that was the final decision. We are now ready to hang the lights and start the landscaping....then...lol

Green...white no more

Welcome October!!! I love fall and today it was cool and crisp, almost cold even. Another exciting thing... I have a new great neice born just this morning!!
I had so many things I wanted to do this morning but pressing on me is the need to paint our new garage door. Have I ever told you how much I hate to paint and yet it seems that painting is all I get done! LOL I also painted 2 sets of shutters and two walk in doors. I was a afraid that the weather would turn too cold to paint them so I did it today. But I accidentally got green paint on my outside door...now how did that happen so tomorrow I have to paint/touch-up that door too...I hate to paint. I just painted that door when we painted the house this summer!
I thought I would share the during and after pics of my garage door...not too exciting but now it is done.
I have started looking for paint colors for my kitchen too. I decorate with gingerbread men so I will have to keep with earth tones...my daughter is voting for burnt orange...actually it is called falling leaves at Lowes. I am still considering which way to go with it. I want it homey but not dark...still looking.

Some of you asked what kind of light we will be putting up in the kitchen. It has more of a brushed bronze finish and we are only putting one up over the sink not the stove area as before. It will match the one over the table too. We have wood flooring so I will be looking for a new rug...paining the ceiling...and then it will be time to decorate for Christmas...LOL

On another note, my Dad packed up his tractors and tools and took everything home. He has been working here on a daily basis since he came home from Florida last April. He has done so much work, both manually and with all his tools and equipment. now this means that our buildings are all but done and that is a good thing...finally. But it also means he will not be coming over daily. This is the first time that my dad and I have worked on a project together since I have become an adult and to tell you the truth I almost cried when he pulled away, My parents have spent time, money and a lot of energy at my home this year and even though I am tired I was sad to see it come to an end. When they go to Florida I am going to miss them both so much.
I am going on Friday to get shrubs for in front of my building and more mulch and then the outside is done until spring.....it is starting to look really nice around here.
I have more pics to share especially the new shutters but first I have to get dh to hang them....LOL Unitl next time, be blessed.
