Just a Quick Update

Dear Friends, I hope you have a Merry Christmas. I am enjoying a few days away but wanted to share. We had a houseful on Christmas morning. Our girls and their boyfriends along with my Mother and Father -in- law. What a joyful noise! We opened gifts, laughed, ate and laughed some more. This was one of the best Christmases I have had in a long time. I loved having the boyfriends on Christmas morning, this was a first for us. We have had the boyfriends later in the day usually but this time they were here for all the fun!
Today I started taking down some of the extra decorations, not the trees. I left out the winter things and snowmen but most of the Santa's are gone now.
I have a piece of furniture that is a special order that needs to be done shortly so I will need to get started on it pretty quick but then I am going to work on my craft room!!! I will keep you updated on that! Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends, By this time of year I am ready to take a break and enjoy my family. We spent the day yesterday with family and today I have a few more errands but I am ready to relax and spend the week with family and friends.
We have so much planned that I fear I will be exhausted by the end of this Christmas season. So, I will bid you farewell so I can concentrate on making our Christmas the best it can be. I will be reading your posts but I will not be posting for a few day!
Love and Blessings to each of you and I wish you the merriest of Christmases!

Christmas on the back porch!!

I did not get many pictures of my back porch but I thought I would share what I took. My back porch is enclosed so I can decorate it as I please. We don't keep it heated though. The suitcases stay year around I just change the rest.
When you are ready to enter our home tis snowman will greet you with a smile.
This red yarn wreath did not find a home on our sale and it seemed like a shame to let it sit in the shop so I found a great place for it. I put the garland up also in a very hap-hazard way. It brings a little cheer to this side of the porch.

 A couple of trees...
And a wonderful cross stitch that my dd finished a few years ago.
And this Santa is on the closet door...what a  charmer he is!
We are having a family dinner today so it will be another busy one. I went shopping with my girls yesterday and we had such a great time. The crowds seemed small and most were cheery! When I got home I remembered 2 important gifts I forgot to pick up, dang. So Monday I will go out one more time!!! But most is wrapped and ready to go.
My dd spent the weekend with us and we have been so busy that it seems like she just got here. I love it when my kids are here! Well, I do have a few more pictures to share...maybe tomorrow! What a wonderful time of the year!

Christmas Kitchen

Dear Friends, Christmas is so close and I wanted to share a few of my kitchen pictures. I have been so busy with the shop that when I got to the kitchen I was kinda out of steam so this year I did not put the garland that I usually do. I did not put up all my Santa's that Mom painted but I think there are enough for this year.
This is my gold tree and my cross stitched cardinal. The cardinal remains hanging there all year long.
Just a small little area with one of my dd trees.
Again, no garland this year just Santa's but I am okay with it.
It is kinda plain but honestly I was just too tired.

Another Santa that Mom painted.

This cabinet does not photo well. It looks so messy but honestly it is quite cute!

The gingerbread girl Mom made for me quite a few years ago and I still adore her!
I still have the back porch and the bathroom to share so I will try to get back to it soon it just seems I am so busy each day.I still have customers who come on appointment besides all the Christmas festivities that are happening. But it is such a wonderful season of joy and I love it so much! I adore Christmas and I look forward to it for months so I am enjoying it as much as possible!!

Dining Room Christmas tour

My dining room looks a lot like last year. I did not add the bright colors to this room I kept it more neutral. I did forget to turn on the lights so I will share another picture when everything is lit.
Yes that is a dog cage in the dining room. My dd has her dog cage here for now so I thought it was only fair to share the way it really is!

The lights are now on but the pictures aren't so good but I guess you get it.

A little Christmas cheer for the table. The ornaments are called white gold and I think I love that color. I even bought glitter by the same name. This table is where I do much of my crafting so once I set it up for Christmas my crafting is done until after Christmas.

This is the door to the foyer, and you can see the front door in the distance. Sometimes I decorate the foyer full out but this year with Vyntage Barn I decided to just give the foyer a small amount of decorations!
When you enter the front door this is our rug and silver tree.
The banister did not get dressed for Christmas, just a small tree this year.
This tree is back to back with the white tree, just a door inbetween.
My bottle brush tree collection, it keep growing. This is just one area where my tress reside.
I found this little silver plate dish and I could not resist turning it into a birdbath..lol I love this little bird.

Another little bird is tucked into this display but the garland steals the show.
Last year I found this plate and I love it so much. I leave it out all winter, it gives we such pleasure.
This is about it for the dining. I will try to get some pictures of the rest of the house today.
We are having a baking day today. This is what we used to do with Mom so it is bittersweet but I will enjoy time spent with my girls!

Another Look at the Living Room...in the daylight

Welcome into my living room. In this picture I am standing in the dining room and as you walk in you can see we have many wonderful windows that face the south so we have a lot of sunshine for all those days that we have clouds here in Ohio.

This is a very large room even though it does not look like it in the picture. to the right is the doorway you just came through and behind the tree are pocket doors that I have closed for this season. If you go through the doors you would be in the foyer and the large window faces the front of our home.
This is the other end of the room where the fireplace and piano are homed. We are full up on furniture. We have many visitors this time of year and need a lot of seating!
I did not turn on any of the lights in this room so you could see it the way I see it. And yes that is a dog bed on the floor and a blanket in the large crock...just keeping it real. Sometimes we think that the pictures hacve to be perfect to post but not this time. This is the way it really looks today.
The footstool and the buffet that we are using to hold the tv are really about 4 feet apart, again, not as close as it looks. And behind me is another 5 feet of the room.
I am so happy it is light and bright in this room. Tomorrow I will try to post the foyer into the dining room. When I look in the pictures I don't think it shows a true view of the room. It is much larger than it appears but this is where we live and celebrate and I wanted to share with you where I spend my time.
Since Vyntage Barn is closed until spring I can now spend my time on my home and a big project coming in January. We will talk about that After Christmas.
Hope you enjoyed my living room tour and I will be around for a visit.

A Tour of my Christmas Living room!

This is our tree this year. I decided to go with bright and cheery colors and I had all the ornaments I needed except the pink so that was the only new investment! I adore the white tree and to be honest I can not even remember purchasing it. I was in the midst of grief at the time and I just can not even remember this purchase but I am happy that I have it.
This cabinet I actually had intentions of putting in my shop but it looks so perfect in this spot that I guess I will keep this one! Nice size for my room. Again, most items you have seen before if you follow me. I just move them to different rooms.I am doing more blues this year.
This little house did not sell at our Christmas open house so I decided to bring it inside. It looks perfect on my coffee table.
This is the top of the cabinet and I adore this little tree. This is how it looks during the day..
 and the evening!
I wish I had take a few more shots of the mantle, it really is prettier than it looks but I will share a few more pictures of this room later. I forgot to get a whole room shot so I will be sharing that too.
I went to the goodwill to get all the different sweaters and these are our stockings this year!
On the other side of the room is our silver tree and she is so pretty at night too.
A few more pictures! The top of the piano is neutral and I love the way it turned out!
When I was at the good will I found this ceramic tree and I knew it was meant for me. I am so happy with it.

This is the table behind the sofa but the little white tree was so cute I wanted to share. Again, most of the items I have had I just placed them in a different spot for a new look of holiday cheer.

Even our wreaths got an update this year! I have more to share but I am out of pictures so I will end for now and enjoy some hot chocolate and a warm blanket. We have snow and ice and after church and a benefit auction we are now in for the day!
