Baby it has been cold outside but Vyntage Barn is gearing up for a Spring Extravaganza! I am loving the touches of yellow that seem to be appearing. I am not usually a fan of yellow but it just seems so fresh. I have been working on a few pieces of furniture also but I will not be able to get them done for another week or so and then I will share pics.
This is one of the new pieces for the spring show. It is just lovely and once I get it displayed I will get a better picture of it. We have installed a heater in my shop and it is so much better to be out there. I had been using space heaters but my feet were so cold we just had to make a change.
Another new piece. It is currently holding some silverware but that will probably change once it gets a little closer.
I put some of my business cards in this beauty but I am thinking this could be a great place to put my rings at night....I love it. And I could this little jewelry box and it was too beautiful to pass up.
I had been wondering what colors we were going to feature at the spring sale and we are finding a collection of this beautiful shade of green. I can not wait to see little flowers potted in the vase. I am sure someone will pick this up to give to their Mother as a wonderful present for Mother's day. Our sale will be Mother's day weekend. since losing my Mother it makes me think she would smile to know that I am honoring her memory with Vyntage Barn and letting this be a place that others can bring their Mothers.
These are just the pretties glasses...glass of wine anyone?
But for now were are doing a little expanding at the shop so I can't show much more but you will be the first to see it...keep watching!
Yep, I have been working on a few pieces of furniture today. This buffet is almost done. I have primed it, painted it and removed the varnish from the top. Today I was putting a coat of stain on the top and it is just beautiful. I thought it would need another coat but I love the way it is turning out.
I have the matching table that will be finished the same way. I have the table legs painted but I am still stripping the varnish on the top. It will be a great set once it is finished!
And today I sold this set. The new owner did not want it painted and I am so happy because it is so pretty just the way it is.
The detail is so wonderful too.
It has a matching china hutch that I so loved. I had already taken the glass and trim out for the move but all the pieces were there in mint condition.
Oh that trim.
Here is the glass and the trim. I am so happy this went to a family that loves antiques and will take great care of it. I thought I would give you a glimpse of what I am up to! It has been a good day~
I looked through my photos to see if there were any new ones that I had not shared and nope..nothing. I have so much to show but for some reason I have forgotten to take the pictures. I did find these two but they aren't much. I have started to work on the spring show so when I saw this little drawer cabinet I thought it would go perfect with my little bee hive salt and pepper shakers. I put them together to see if that would work and I think it will so that is a beginning.
I also took out the chalkboard and found an empty nail and I think once I make it a little shorter it will be perfect for this spot. With all the snow and cold I have not worked much in my shop. I do believe I will be getting heat in there before too long and then I can work my heart out! We did get another 6 inches of snow last night and today so we are at a grand total of 67 inches for the year. I am weary of snow and cold and I am hoping that it begins to melt one day soon.
This week is starting out busy so we will see where it leads. Hope you are well.
I had a some time this morning so I decided to paint some furniture. The buffet and stand in the background also go a final coat of white along with the table legs. Had it dried a little faster I would have glazed and waxed them but they were tacky so I decided to paint this little beauty. This is the first piece of furniture in barn red and it was easy to work with. I was not sure at first and I even thought about putting black over the top and then sand the edges but honestly it turned our so pretty that I am going to let it be. I am going to put the original handle back on it but I wanted to paint them first so that will be for another day.
So now I am off to shower and run some errands. Have a great day!
Today while we are having a snow storm and I can not work out in my little store, I thought I would work on making a few purses instead. I decided to add some pink to the first one and honestly it is better in person. It will also be getting an transfer but for today it is finished.
This small one is my favorite. I adore roses and it is just large enough to take with me when I go to church or on date night.
Lace anyone??? I love it too. But sometimes this size is too small so I made a few that were larger!
I used the same lace for the big ones because I am in the middle of a snow storm so why not?
Then a little burlap too.
This one is burlap, roses and it will have bling once it is completed!
I am suppose to be working on pillows for my dd but who could resist making these cute little purses. Hope you are having a great day!
Hi Dear Friends,
I wanted to share a few pictures of some of the items we will be having out our next sale. I love this divided tin. Today I put some of our antique silverware into the slots but soon I will put something pretty inside for a different look. It is so cute either way.
This 4 drawer cutie is the only one I have. I love it and each of the handles are similar and different, now that is so fun.
I also put my cards in this compote but they will be gone before the sale since I have other plans for it. It was so cold in my building today that I could only spend a short period of time out there. Someone is coming next week to install a heater so I will no long freeze. That will be so great!
I wanted to write a cute message on the chalkboard but where is my chalk when I need it????
And I just had to share this cute jacket I picked up at an auction. Now does this say 1950's or what? I love it and it will be perfect for our Mother's Day sale. I wanted to share a few things I have been working on but it is so cold I will share the rest another day. I have some new ideas to share soon too!
I also will be sharing some furniture I am working on but that will be a few days yet. But for today, getting ready for another storm but I am happy it will not be as cold as it has been. They are saying about 9 inches so not terrible just messy!
I know that I shared that we have been having such bitter cold weather but I also wanted to share snow rollers. We have not had snow rollers in Ohio for many years so this is something that is kinda exciting, well, considering we have been trapped inside for weeks. We had hundreds of them in our year.
My hubby and I have been searching for new items for our Vyntage Barn sale and this is our newest additon. I love deer and when I found this pair I knew they were coming home with me. They will be difficult to part with but I know someone will love them as much as I do and I will enjoy them until Mother's day. We are heading to another auction later today but we are getting freezing day right now.
Hope all is well with each of you and I wanted to share that I was featured here with The Dedicated House. I was so excited so please stop over and check out her blog!
