Primitve crow table runner completed

I have been working on this primitive table runner for about 2 weeks. It didn't take me that long to stitch it, I just haven't worked very hard on completing it. A dear friend actually bought this pattern and wool thinking that she would learn how to make it. After several years she decided that she wasn't going to attempt it and she gave it to me. It is so beautiful that I feel a little guilty keeping it. I adore it. This is a picture of it laying on my kitchen table. The thread looks shiny in the picture but it isn't at all in really life.
I am thinking of making another one in fall colors and change the design a little. by the way this desgn is from Backyard Quilts and it is called Three Old Crows. It is 12 by 39 so it is quite large.
I couldn't seem to get a good picture of the entire thing but I think you get the idea.

Surprise in the mailbox

Yesterday as I went to the mail box I was looking for a package from Trudy of Crows in the Attic Primitives...ans sure enough it was there...I was very excited!
The outside envelope was just wonderful, so full of design but of course the watermellon slices were just the most wonderful craftsmanship.
Trudy, thank you...you brightened my rainy, dreary day. I have them on my table for now. Thank you a million!!! You are sweet.
I have Trudy in my blog links...stop over and see her. They have been having spring snow storms and she has some amazing pictures.

More outdoor jobs and planning a flower garden

There is still more work to be done. I finally got all the water pumped off the pool so we could get the cover off..but it was way to windy. So today we got more rain so Thursday I guess I will pump it again. I sure we have a nice warm day for it.
I have been planning a garden from my front walkway. It is so hard to decide if I should go for it or just work on it in stages. If I plant a row of flowers along the walkway it will not take much work but if I plant a row of boxwood and then flowers...it would be wonderful but a lot of work...at least I am not going into it blind.
Any thoughts??

Another project in the making..

Looks like there is work ahead...

Today I think I finally found a bargin like some of you find all the time. I was at Lowes and they had yellow tulips on sale for $1.16...but today they were $.78. When I went to pay there were actually $.39. Now for that price I bought 36 if them. When I got home it was so windy that I didn't really want to plant them...but I bit the bullet and did it anyways. I wish I had picked up a few more...here is a look at some of the finishing products.

Hope you have a wonderful day...I mowed the lawn until the blade fell off the mower...then i guess it was time to quit...well maybe I will finish it tomorrow. Be Blessed

Primitive crow basket hugger..remake..

Ok, now this is much better than the crow from yesterday. I thought about what I could do to make it look the way I had planned and well....I cut it apart and started again. Now this crow is much better and is sitting on my mantle.
I think this will do until the next idea rolls around.
I put way all my Easter items and I am not being very creative with what to put our next. All I can say is I am working on it.
Remember last year, in the fall when I painted my bathroom, put up a new light and shelf. Well, today I am headed to Lowes to get a new towel bar, light...and a few other items to finish making the change. We are replacing the carpet in there too. But I have not decided on a color as of yet. I really want to put tile with the heated coils...but dh does not want tile..at all. He could easily lay the tile himself but he just doesn't care for tile sooo...carpet it is. I like to live in harmony.
I have been trying to decide what to put on my front porch...is it too early for red, white and blue. (as you know that doesn't match my house at all but it would be out for memorial day and the 4th) Or I could just put stuff out there and forget the holiday decorations....I just don't know which way to go. So I have been watching all your blogs to see what you are doing with your porches. Any ideas?

Crow basket hugger

I put together another little basket hugger. I finally put away the wool eggs and I thought I would make a crow...I am not overly pleased with it but I don't have time to work on it for another couple days day I went ahead and put it on the basket for now. I am not sure if it is the shape of the crow...or maybe I need more pennies but once I work on it I will post another picture to see what you think of it then.

My midde daughter and her bf made a wonderful wreath for me the other night. They came home with some kind of vine...twisted it so it had a heart in the middle and then into a wreath. They are so sweet.
I am going to start another stitchery project but not for another few days...I will be around to see what you all have been doing this week. Until then, be blessed

New doodles finished.

I wanted to share four little doodles that I finished today. I wanted to make a set of seasonal designs and when I saw the cute little primitive cat that Betty at Primitivebetty http://primitivebettys.blogspot.com/ offered for free I knew they were just what I was looking for. I also added a few touches from a design that Char at the Pickeled Pepper Patch offered. The summer design I put together using Bettys freebie and all in all...well...I love them. Stop by both blogs for great ideas. I have both of them in my blog list. Let me know what you think of them.

I ate chocolate today....

I ate chocolate today. I buried my friend today. Chocolate was my tribute to her...my way of saying that I know she would want us to enjoy life even as she passes away.
I ate chocolate because I know that in this I am celebrating all those funny times, all those slumber parties, all those little jokes...our school days. I do not say good-bye dear friend I say I will see you again...and until then I will think of you often, I will watch your little girl grow up...and I will miss you. Blessings to each of you.

Such very sad news

My wonderful childhood friend passed away this week. She was one of those people who always looked for the good in people. I don't believe I every heard her say a mean word....and I have known her since first grade.
Ruth,(Weaver), was a girl that hung out at my home throughout high school. No, she had a wonderful mom and dad, she hung out because we had such fun together.
When I went off to college, she went to work in a factory and although we didn't live far apart, we didn't talk often. When I would run into her it was just like old times and we would laugh and talk about all memories and new families.
Ruth had been battling breast cancer that had spread throughout her body. I knew she was sick, I knew that things didn't look good...but I was praying for healing...I was praying for what I wanted to happen. God had other plans for her.
She is leaving behind a husband and 13 year old daughter...they will miss her so much...and so will I.
I knew that if I ever needed anything, she would be there without question...a true lifetime friend. There are many broken hearts over our loss...prayers that were answered in unexpected ways. However, I know she is now pain free living with Jesus in her new mansion, waiting for her family and friends to join her... I miss her already. May God bless and keep your family while you are gone.... With fond memories, Dianntha

Easter celebration

The two with Easter birthdays...My dad and our eldest daughter...we were at my mom and dads house.

The birthday girl and her sisters...our treasures.

We had a lovely Easter-birhtday. Our daughter turned 21 and my dad turned 78. Wow, where does the time go? Most of our family members were with us and we had lots of food and laughs.
Church was packed with more people that chairs which is a good ploblem. The music at our service was just amazing and my dh and children were all there with me so what a great day we had.
I started to get out my cross stitch things for a new project but my sister reminded me that I have not finished her b-day present from last June...Oh dear...I will work on finishing that today.
We watched the movie Marley and Me...I felt like it was waste of time. The entire movie was about a dog that needed to be TRAINED. I did not find it funny to watch a dog control the entire family with its' poor behavior...JMO.
Well, the day is passing me by...until next time...be blessed

Almost 21!!

We are celebrating my daughters 21st birthday a little early. Her actual birthday is on Easter Sunday but we wanted to stretch it out so tonight we are having a little dinner and this is the picture of her and her "cake." We call this Fruit Sunrise and we all like it as a spring dessert.
She gets her beautiful red hair from her Grandpa. His birthday is the 13th and with their birthdays only 1 day apart they have always celebrated together. On Easter they will once again celebrate and I well share a picture of them after Easter.

This and that

This is week has been so busy...just the kind of stuff where all you do is run around...I hate that. Today I did make a trip to get some groceries and I saved $42 in double coupons at Krogers. I was pretty excited!
I am going to make chicken salad for Easter and I found the chicken $5 off at a different store so that was good to. Our grass is starting to turn green and we are seeing just a hint of some new grass here and there...not enough to show you a picture but I will as it pops through.
The girls are at softball practice and so is dh so I thought I would spend some time visiting some of you and you sure have been up to so many crafts. I have most of my stitching stuff away as I begin to start think about working outside. I have so much landscaping to do and raking and that is where I have put my thoughts as of late. It is still pretty cool, I had to walk with my hood pulled up yesterday because the wind was so cold but I was happy to be outside. Did you see the moon last night...how beautiful it was...I love moonllight. More tomorrow

clothes line cross stitch done

Ok, well I finished the little stitching project yesterday and I think it turned out ok. I don't have a frame for it just yet but I will get one soon.
I really want to get back to other projects with wool but it makes such a mess and right now I have to use my living room and I am really tired of it right there for all to see...and mainly it is bothering me the most.
Today we are getting a little taste of spring with it being in the 50's and I went out to see if any of the grass seed was popping through just yet...and there were a few patches of green coming. I have gone through 4 large bags of grass seed and I am not done yet. I am trying my best to get things seeded for the summer.
Guess I will go and clean up my little mess...see you soon.

What do you think of these?

I just had to show you a picture of my new Easter shoes. My teenage girls are always finding the cutest shoes but me, well I ususally go with something kinda safe that I can wear with everything. Well not this year. I am going with something that I think is cute and easy to walk in. What do you think? We went to Columbus shopping today and found just what we were looking for. i think we are ready for Easter now and my daughter is turning 21 on Easter so I had to pick up some items for her b-day. We had a good day.

I am working on this little cross stitch pattern. You are looking at a clothes line with clothes on it but of course it is not finished yet. Well, it is not finished in this photo. I do have it done but I don't have it tea stained so I will try to show that tomorrow.

Today we had plenty of snowshowers and wind but we are so lucky that we did not have the terrible storms that they were having in Michigan. It was kinda cold but it will pass and we will be back to better weather. Until then, be blessed.

Wool eggs for my basket

Last fall Janae at Cozy Coops Corner make some cute little pumpkins that she tied around a basket and called them basket huggers...Janea please correct me if I am wrong about this.... Anyways, she inspired me to try my hand at making a spring version. I dug out some of my wool and felt pieces and made a few little eggs to go around my commemorative basket. I thought they were rather cute and I wanted to share a picture of them on the basket on my mantle.
My parents are back from Florida and my Mother had to be hospitalized as soon as she got here. We had a scare but in the end all turned out well and we are happy that she is home...tired but healthy...We are thankful for that. Now my dad is having a few health issues so he is off for a few tests next week. I am so happy they are here and not in Florida for all this stuff!!
I took a picture of a few flowers that were peeking through the ground but for some reason all I got was a blank shot, I will have to try again. Until next time, be blessed.

Peacock challenge complete

Robby over at Glory River Primitives http://gloryriverprimitives-robby.blogspot.com/ is having a challenge to use this primitive peacock and create something using that pattern. This is what I came up with. It is tea stained but I am not sure you can tell that by the picture. I am not sure where this will hang but for now it is at home by my fireplace mantle.
I also took some pictures of our first spring flowers but somehow the image was blank so I will have to post that later. So Robby, what do you think?
