Yellow is the thing

I was ready for a little sunshine so I decided  to bring a little inside with some paint. This is hazy dawn and it really is a nice soft color. My dd saw it and said that she wanted it for her house so it is in the shop for now but it will have a home with her after our May show.
I also gave two chairs a little gray paint and when it dried I gave it a white wash also but I guess I forgot to take a picture of that...I will share that again when they are recovered! Working on a few other pieces but not much progress yet..more soon.

Painting the Mantle, fireplace surround!

I spent the day with a paint brush again today. I wanted to change the looks of this mantle that we purchased so I decided on black and I am so in love with the finish.
My dh almost fainted that I would paint an oak fireplace but then he loved it when it was done.
I seriously thought about white but I am happy with the black for now and I can always change it later!
I distressed the edges and it really came to life. I have not decided on the inside just yet but I better decide soon since it is almost dry! Hope you like it!

A New Addition!

While I have been showing you a few pieces of furniture that I have been working on there is another surprise that I have been waiting to share. I am excited to tell you that we are expanding Vyntage Barn for our May sale. We have been working very hard for the last few weeks trying to get the building ready and today I finished painting the space. Tomorrow we will put the molding up and then it will be complete. I have an army of people lined up for Sunday,  after a large lunch for all, we will be moving a ton of furniture. I am excited for the help and I am excited to finally be able to move everything into place.
I have been picking up so many new items but they remain boxed since my room was not complete so after Sunday, our day of celebration and food and family, the work will begin.
I will try to share the moments with you when we start on Sunday and of course I will show you the new area as I work on it! We have about 6 weeks and that sounds like a long time but I have a show in april and I have so much to do outside as well....oh so much to do! I will keep you posted but I just wanted to share!!

More finishes!

I have been painting the final pieces for the sale and I thought I would show you have cute the side tables turned out. I love the little decorative designs and the wavy edges too!
I distressed them and they were even better!
How fun is that? I also painted 6 chairs and a mirror...now how did I forget to take pictures.
And then I have a little rabbit to inspire my next craft project!

Adding A Little Spring

I have working on a few crafts and I thought I would share. I purchased these little pots and tray for the next Vyntage Barn sale but until then I thought I would work on how I would display them. I saw this little craft on one of my boards at Pintrest and I thought then would be perfect for these little pots. I actually made 5 of them total. They were easy but a little time consuming.

Again, these are the little pots and I love the spring colors! Although the tray does not go with it, I love putting them together.
I changed out my mantle to a beachy theme. Even though we had blizzard conditions yesterday and 3 degrees currently, I am dreaming of warm weather.
I then added the little craft flower balls and I am just in love with them. I sure hope my customers love them as much as I do!

Yet More Furniture

I have been debating whether I was going to paint our headboard or not but the other day I was painting something else. The paint was already open so...I painted it. I did not get a full picture but I did think to take a quick snap.
No need to cover it too well since I will be distressing it when it is dry. Once the mattress is back on the bed I will show you the full headboard. I wish I could decide on a color story for our bedroom...
This small cabinet took a turn for the fun side. A few numbers and a little paint.
Today I have been crafting and the snow storm is raging on. Everything is closed and we are warm and at home. Just enjoying the day.

More Furniture!

Since I was showing you some of the furniture that I have been working on I thought I would share this set as well. The buffet is totally done and I am so in love with it. I would love to keep this one. My hubby says I want to keep all of them and I think he is right. I am going to be doing a show in April and this is one of the pieces I will have for sale.

I also have the matching table and as you can see it has hidden leaves that I also stripped and refinished.
I do have six chairs that I have not stated yet but I am glad to have this much done so far. I think this set will set pretty quickly. I have not had a buffet and table for sale so far!
Last weekend dh and I took a road trip to check out a new store and a few stores that are new to us. It was 60 degrees when we left home but before long the big snowflakes were falling and honestly it had the feel of Christmas.
But when we got home I was reminded that Spring is coming!

Furniture Pieces for Spring!

The last few weeks I have been working on a few more furniture pieces. Between the weather and my limited space it really has been difficult. However, I found this stand and it was in need of a little work so with a hammer and a little paint I have transformed this little oak stand. I had a dark varnish and little else.
I love the way the wood is showing through the paint.
This shows it a little better!
I loved the color so much that I dug out a bookcase that was waiting for it's paint and also shared the green paint!
With some distressing it is just perfect. Maybe I am loving the green because of the long winter but either way I am loving this color!
I also found a light that seems to continue the green theme! This will be so cute once it is huge up! I have a few more pieces to share tomorrow!

More Savannah

In Savannah there were so many things to see. Each day as I walked through our home I found other things I did not see before. The molding in this bathroom...and the lights.
The second level living room with all the bookcases was just so wonderful.
The third floor was just as much fun. Who wouldn't want to be here????

A quiet little spot  to just enjoy!
   We had a great week!

Our Favorite Room!!

While we were in Savannah I think I enjoyed  this room the most. We did not use it at all but we would go in there and sit on the bed and look at all the unusual decor. It was fabulous. I loved the colors, the bedding just all of it.

The art all went together. The walls were a medium blue.

And this pop of red was just genus.
The green furniture was a surprise but somehow it looked great together.
How fun is that?

The headboards were also green and they matched the small dresser. All I can say is we loved it and I am working on creating a room using the same color theme!

Great Chandelier

This stunning light was at the top of the stairwell.
 Remarkable and wonderful.

The second floor living room. So many neat decor items. It was a little crowded but inspiring.
