New Projects

While I have been resting I have been working on a set of winter coasters. The first set I made were for winter...the snowman look. A set of six, all with different faces.
And since Amanda has been talking about how she was wishing it would turn to fall because it has been so hot...well I decided to make a set of autumn coasters as well. I wonder if the weather has cooled down for Amanda yet???
We did get even more snow and now we are 6 inches above normal for February. Normally I love snow but this year I have had enough. I think since I have been under the weather....the weather is bothering me more than ususal.
My daughters and I have been watching seasons of the Gillore Girls on DVD. We order them from the library and then watch them like a marathon. I has been great fun and kinda interesting too. At least it makes the resting go faster.
In my last blog I mentioned that I was hunting my pattern books, well no luck so far and that is not a good thing...but I am still looking!!!
I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Ramblings

Well, it is so cold today...19 degrees and windy and snow flurries. I ususally love the winter but it has been so cold and I haven't been feeling that well so the cold is really bothering me...well enough about that.
Today is my 2 week check-up from my surgery and I will be glad to see the doctor. I have a few questions about the surgery and will be interested to hear her answers. My incisions have been bothering me a little...they are right where the seam is on the wasteband of my jeans so it rubs them with each step so I put my sweat pants on to releave the pressure but I am ready to be healthy and pain free....4 more wks of recovery to go...now that sounds like a really long time. Why is it that everything I want to do is something I am not suppose to do LOL....Oh well....we'll see how my appointment goes...I need more energy!
I wanted to show you a pic of the hearts that I finished. I don't know how well you can see the wire hangers but they turned out cute. A nice touch for a primitive wall hanging. The wire is curled at the ends and throughout the middle too.
I have been working on some snowmen and the are really adorable...that is if you like primitive things. One problem I am having is finding some of my pattern books. I had to move all my stuff this fall to make a bedroom for our oldest daughter...well I should say she switched rooms but for some reason I can not find the patterns I am looking for...do you mind saying a prayer that I can find them soon. I have this obsession that I can't stop looking for something that is lost...it is a realy pain...LOL I know they are here somewhere!
Well, I am off to go straighten my hair and do my make-up for my appointment. Have a great day.

Well, I really did take pics of the names and of all the little slips of paper as the winner was drawn but for some reason my image will not download today. It has more to do with our dial-up than anything else, I'm sure.

100th post giveaway

While I have been resting I have been working on the heart projects and I started a new one too. This one is a table mat to place your candles on...it is round and has two colors of stars and then hand stitching inbetween the stars. I don't think you can see all that in the pic but the stitches are in burgundy like the stars. Since this is my 100th post I am offering this table mat or one in the colors of your choice with hearts or stars. Just leave a comment on this post and I will draw the names on Saturday evening! Good Luck!

Resting for now

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my sewing projects. I just picked them up again today to begin the final process...
I had surgery on Tuesday so I have not been up to par as far as working on stiching projects. I have been doing a lot of resting and I am tired of resting but that is about all I felt like doing until today. The surgery went well and as soon as I have my six weeks of recovery I am expecting to feel like a new girl again!!!
I will try to get around to visit all of you in a few days but for now back to my chair to rest...and watch another season of the Gillmore Girls that we borrowed from the library. Have a great Sunday afternoon.

Hearts

The hearts are the latest addition to my stitching projects. I love the designs and I am not sure how I will finish them....stuff like a pillow, put a hanger on them or put a handle for a door hanger. I guess I don't have to decide right now anyways.
I will be gone for a few days and when i get back I will visit all of you!

Another project

Today we are celebrating my fil birthday...we are celebrating late because of all things going around here. I planned pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn from the freezer, salad and home made peach pie.
I have been working on some more projects and I thought I would share a glimpse of my heart projects. Hope you like it...enjoy your
Sunday.

An old fashioned lamp

It is icy here today but we are hoping that it melts by lunch since today is one of our roller skating days with the home school group.
I wanted to share a pic of a treasure I picked up this week at a local shop that is going out of business. I love the old fashioned look but the ease of the electric cord. I have it in the bathroom for now but I think I will be moving it to the mantle as soon as the snowmen are put away.
It has been quiet here now that my mother has gone back to Florida....we found out that her brother pased away yesterday, he had been quite ill and was the reason she had come to Ohio to begin with. I'm sure she will not be returning to Ohio for the burial because she needs to rest after her two surgeries.
Have a great Friday.
