Honor Society and CaHRH

Last week our daughter was inducted into the National Honor Society at the University. This is such an honor for her and for us. She works very hard at her studies. We went to campus to see the ceremony and take her to dinner. I must admit that as a home schooling mom I feel especially happy...all the time and energy has been worth it. She is a senior this year and will have one more year to go to graduate with a degree in web page design and computer graphics.

For any of you that have been following my progress I wanted to show you CaHRH again. I did not have the right color of floss to finish block two so I started block three until I could get to the Craft Gallery. When I went last week they had in all the new market items so I did get to see Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow. It is really lovely too. I did pick up a few of the new patterns and I will show them in a different post.
We did break a record last week...for the most snow fall in February...25 inches in one month was the record, well we are now above that...no wonder it seem like all it does is snow around here. We had a small storm this week where the visibility was low but only about three inches of snow...well enough of that.
I have been doing some cleaning too...I worked on my bedroom and tomorrow I am going to take down the curtains and wash them and hopefully finish that room. I just painted and redecorated it no so long ago so just cleaning it for now.
I helped dh finish our rental.Boy..it has been a long job...now I will run an add and try to get someone who will not rip it up!!!
While I was at Wally world today I noticed how grouchy everyone looked. Is it the weather??? The season??? The day??? I don't know but when you scanned the people in all the lines and shopping they all seemed so unhappy...that is so sad.
Well, I am off to do a little more stitching since I now have the floss that I needed. Blessing to each of you until we meet again.

Block 2 of CaHRH...almost done

I found a few days to work on block two of Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow. I love the way it is turning out. It has been much more fun to stitch than block 1.lol I still have more to do but it is getting close.
Once this block is done I have a few table runner and a candlemat to work on...
The weather here is still frightful. We are under a winter storm watch for today and tomorrow...we still have so much snow on the ground and I am over it!!!lol But, that being said, it does give me time to work on these projects before spring and the big push to get everything done!
I am hosting a Bible study for teens in our home and that starts tomorrow. Many of the teens are here all the time so I am used to that but we will see how into a Bible study they really are...or not. So tomorrow that starts and stops at Easter.
I have some ramblings going on in my head but not sure what is going to come out on paper just yet so I am opening up a folder and writing them down...we will see how that goes!!
Have a great Sunday afternoon...may the Lord bless and keep you!

A finish ....I love it.

It has been a while since I posted so I thought I would sit down and chat with you for a little while.
I didn't take more pictures of the snow because I am sick of it and you have to be sick of it too.lol My dad called from Florida and asked if it had all melted yet...are you kidding???? We probably have 16 inches that needs to melt and that will take a little while.
Yesterday I did get on a roll and decided to make a few meal ahead so I browned some hamburger and divided it into two pans. One for chili and one for tacos in a bag.
I made the chili and put it in a crock pot...made the tacos in a bag to eat and the then started another crock pot with chicken breasts for chicken burritos today at supper time. My dd doesn't like chicken much so that is why I made the chili so he would be happy.
I have been decluttering and redecorating. It is so hard to find things that I like to decorate my living room with..after the holidays. Everything was so pretty and sparkly and shiny and then....boring. I am not going to do much decorating for spring since I have a graduation party to get ready for. This year I will just decorate for that and forget about seasonal stuff till fall.
I feel like I need some new inspiration because I seem to have lost my motivation in changing my living room but I am hoping that as the season changes to warmer and warmer weather I will be inspired.
Anyways, the picture is of a freebie that was offered by Plum Street Samplers last Christmas. I so fell in love with it so I decided on Friday to start it and give my eyes a rest from all those peacock feathers on CaHRH. I love the way it turned out and I am going to try to find a frame from my stash so I can get it finished and ready to hang. I choose to stitch it with DMC 498 and I am happy with it. I almost stitched it in all black but am happy that I didn't.
Well, I have a headache so I will leave for now but blessings to each of you.

Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow

This is the progress I have made on Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow. I am hoping to finish it this weekend and then start another block. I could have had this one done had I not started Thomas but sometimes you have to do what you have to do!!
It is a light mist outside so I am wondering if that will make the roads worse??? I have better be off the the courthouse...my tax bill is calling...yuck. But if that is the price of living free I will pay it and try not to complain!!! Blessings!

Thomas and LizzyKate done...

Yes, we did get another 10 inches of snow and no I didn't take anymore pictures. I can tell you that to walk down our sidewalk is almost knee deep and we can't keep it shoveled because of the high winds so...well...I am going to find a nice warm, quiet place to stitch...well...that is what I want to do:)
Here is what we have been working on in our quiet moments. I will take a picture of CaHRH so you can see my progress. I will try to post it tomorrow. Have you been watching the new Autumn at HRH as she posts the blocks?? It looks pretty cute so far. Her blog (Carriage House) is on my side bar.

Thomas is finished...from Notforgotten Farm...I am not sure how I am going to finish it yet but until then I will tuck it away.

My youngest dd finished her LizzyKate. this is her birthday month and I think she wants me to make a bowl filler with it...that will be so cute!
Well, I must find something to do but i will check out your blogs later. Be Blessed (and warm).

Frozen Fog...

We woke up to school delays and frozen fog. It was so beautiful...and three degrees. I did get up to 15 degrees at noon and another storm on the way. i am just hoping we only get 10 or so inches and not the 12+ they are calling for...oh...spring will be here soon.

Stormy again and ramblings

Hello there. I have spent the week in Florida with my parents. Dad had hip replacement surgery and is doing well. It was nice to see him trying to get back on his feet and to be there with mom for a few days too. They seem to be doing well but tired. I will be happy when he is back to normal...well...normal means that he and I have projects to work on when he gets back to Ohio.
I did visit your blogs while I was away but there wasnt much to blog about so I was quiet...but I am back and ready to get started...so look out.
Yes, we did get the winter storm last night. I am guessing 8 inches...maybe a little more but it is still winter in Ohio so this is what it is... I am tired of winter but I am not ready for spring and all the work that it brings so I am happy to be inside nice and warm. I did put up a few pics of our sidewalk. I wanted to get a few more but my camera didn't work too well in the cold and blowing snow.

Made a little more progress on Thomas. I would like to finish him soon so I can move on to something else. So many of you have such wonderful projects going and I really enjoy seeing them in progress. I have started a list of projects I want to start too. This coming week I will start the hall closet and then I will be able start something larger....taxes!!!! lol Yuck...

The shovel got buried..guess someone should have put it in the garage!!!lol

We can't make it too far on the sidewalk...got to get the girls to help shovel it while the sun is shining.

We made a path so we can get to the cars for church tomorrow...it didn't take very long. The wind is still blowing but not as bad as earlier this morning. We have called the neighbor to plow out the driveway but I am sure we are on a very long list.

Well, for now that is it...but I will be back soon....be blessed.
