Thanksgiving Thoughts and Christmas Displays

Sometimes when I take a break from all the busyness I think about the upcoming Thanksgiving.I am so thankful for my family and friends.  I am thankful for all their support and love.
Today I was sweeping upstairs and I thought about a Thanksgiving at our other home. The house was full of family and we were laughing and talking (and eating). Mom and Dad were at my home as well. I remember Dad going upstairs and laying on my bed all afternoon. He napped to escape. Holidays were not his thing. Mom was in the highlight of her life at the Holidays. She loved it when we were all together. She was the happiest surrounded by her family. For Dad, not at all.
I sure do miss them.
I continue to work on more displays for our upcoming sale but sometimes I just remember...and then I know that we have to make each holiday special because things change so quickly.
We will have a large Thanksgiving this year and I am thrilled for each and everyone. The boyfriends are all coming too and this will be the first time they are all here for a holiday at the same time. So much fun to come.
Today I am cleaning and trying to figure out where everyone will sit...and smiling because Mom would have loved this Thanksgiving. She is here. We use her dishes, I still have napkins that she purchased, I use her recipes........but most of all I see her in her grandchildren...their smiles, their kindness and compassion. Her love remains with each of us.
So as I work on displays, she is here. As I cook, she is here. My heart is full.
I look forward to Christmas after the sale. When I will work on Christmas gifts and Christmas cookies and the true meaning of Christmas.

Looking good, love the sweet laying down deer.......My heart feels for you that your Mom is not to share the holidays with you, but I am sure she is smiling down on you enjoying your decorating for Christmas, Hugs Francine.
