A Few New Finishes!

While the weather has been relatively calm, I have been trying to work on  a few pieces of furniture. I finished 6 last week. Some of them are with chalk paint some are not,,,can you tell the difference?
This desk came to me with stripes but the finish was turning the paint yellow. I sanded like crazy and then brought out a stencil. I finished it a little while ago and now I am looking for a chair.
I was inspired to work on this suit case and I am loving it. I am going to be participating in an art show and this is one of the pieces I will be taking.
A little while back I showed you this piece but it wasn't quite finished. It turned out so pretty that I almost hate to sell it.
The doors turned out so pretty. I started to rearrange the furniture in the shop and I know that I need more furniture but I did land a huge piece that is 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide....no to decide on a color!
Next week is going to be so busy...so I had better get to work now!

The Last Makeovers for this Week!

Well I finally have finished a few beauties that I wanted to share. This piece is a special order. It is in a soft white with new handles. I love the way it turned out.
She also wanted a soft pink dresser so this is the final result.  I also has a mirror but I couldn't get a good picture with it on.
I finally updated a piece that I have had for a while. The handles for this one are so cute but I took the picture before the were on.  I believe that is 6 pieces of furniture for this week. I started to rearrange the shop tonight so tomorrow I am hoping to make some progress!
This is the before picture.  The shop is has everything pushed into piles while I paint and rearrange but I am hoping that next week I can finally get a few good pictures...hopefully the new decor will show up soon!

More Furniture Today!

Today, Dear Friends, I have been working on a few more projects. This little stand got a first coat of soft pink. It will be perfect for our Spring Open House. I know the light was not good but I will try to get a better picture during the daylight tomorrow.
This little planter is just the perfect shade of sage! When I started painting it I loved it even more!!!!

I also wanted to show you the inside of the cabinet from yesterday. It will be so cute once I get it displayed. The fun part is that I have another sellers cabinet to paint. I have not decided on a color for that one but it might be a tough choice after this one!
This is tomorrows project....I am excited to get it done and delivered to it's new home.
It will be soft pink and white. It will be so sweet for a baby's room!

New Makeovers!

I have been spending some quiet time in my little shop. I have had this sellers cabinet for a while but I finally got the inspiration to paint it. I have decided on sage green and it will be perfect for Mother's Day when we open next. I painted the inside the same white but forgot to snap a picture.
Even though we are closed right now, I continue to work daily to make the changes that need to happen in the shop! Once the painting is complete I am hoping the new orders will arrive so the fun can begin!
I also finished this piece that was a special order. Once the handles are on it will be a beauty.  I distressed it lightly ! I have a second one I am working on as well...but no pictures for it yet!
I just purchased this one and the sealer had turned the white stripes yellow. I have sanded the top and I am planning on stenciling the top this week!
This is the detail on the next piece it will be white and the rest will be pink!

And a week ago I decorated the tables for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting! They really wanted a rustic look so this is what I came up with.

Our Christmas in the Living Room!

I was thinking today that I had not shared the living room pictures as of yet. We have been so busy with Vyntage Barn that I almost forgot about my blog. The first picture is on my daughter took and I thought her caption was so cute that I left it on!
It is had to get a picture of the entire room so I will show you want I took today and then I need to turn around and get the other end.

The picture is a little dark because it was raining this morning.
And I did not organize the coffee table because I really was looking at the magazines and I wasn't done!
This is the only pic I took of the mantle so at least you get a little idea. This week is already too busy and I am fighting a cold. Hope you are all having a merry time of year!

Christmas in the Dining room!

While I have a few minutes I thought I would share a few pictures of my dining room. I have been so busy with my little business that I am slow at getting my decor done. I moved our white tree into the dining room this year and you can look through the house right to the front door!
I filled  my basket with white flowers with sparkles and we added a light to the cabinet.
Here is a view of the shelf, it has a few Christmas items added to it!
But just to keep it all real. This is my dining room table! It is covered with a puzzle that week work on each weekend.
On the heater you will find all my beautiful items for the table! So if you are struggling with all the Christmas tours with all the perfect houses...don't! Sometimes things are not what they seem.
I have decided I am not going to look at the open houses tours on the blogs until after Christmas for inspiration for next year but not for comparison for this year! I will share more as I have time!

The Day After Thanksgiving, A Time of Joy

The day after Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite days! I love the celebration of Thanksgiving with family and food but the day after is quiet and calm. We do not Black Friday shop. Our girls are quietly sleeping, dh is quail hunting and I am sitting in my favorite chair watching Christmas movies.
One of the reasons I decorate early is for today...that day when you sit and just enjoy your festive home. When you know that all is well and you can just begin to enjoy the season without the pressure of decorating.
I will begin to share pictures of our festive home in a few days but for today, I am resting.
We will be going to a movie this afternoon and just enjoying a comedy, no stress, no pushing and shoving, just laughing and enjoying the moment. We don't do that often enough.
We need to enjoy the simple things.
Christmas is coming and all is well.
For today I am enjoying my family and my blessings.
Let freedom ring.
