Antique Wool Vine Runner

Well, here she is in all her glory and hanging in her new home. I had planned for this spot all along and I am more than pleased. She fits right in, doesn't she? Now I kinda wish my turkey had a black background too. i made him many years ago and up until now he was just about my favorite...but well...you can see what I mean.
The runner is 39 inches long and made out of wool that I found at the Goodwill. the red was purchased at the store because I could not find red at the Goodwill. The vine and the back and many of the leaves are made from an army blanket that we got at an auction.
I am so happy that this runner is complete. I must admit that it was more work than I had anticipated. I did get a little frustrated and took a break from it for a little while but now I am happy that I went back and finished it right away. Thank you for waiting so long to see it.
This pattern was taken from  With These Hands by Maggie Bonanomi. It is a wonderful book and I will be making more of these patterns this winter. Enjoy your weekend!

Nice. Makes me want to dig out my wool bits and see what I can come up with.

Dianntha.... It's just as beautiful as I envisioned it when you first posted a peek at it; about half-way through I think.

I don't know what it is about the black background and those deep shades of green and taupe, with the little pops of red and white but it's just beautiful.

Congrats on a tuly lovely runner. I'm sure it will be a cherished family heirloom for many generations to come.

Blessings,
Martha
