Embarrasing Christmas moment..

Well, we have been rather busy with Christmas stuff this past week. I am almost done and everything is wrapped and ready.
Sunday our Christmas choir performed at our third service and I must say it was rather embarrassing. For some reason our director was distracted and he just kept making terrible mistakes as he lead the choir. We were singing with a track so it he music went on even when he started singing the wrong things....he even missed a large section of the Christmas story which was his solo.
At one point the choir wasn't even singing at the right spot on the track....oh I was so embarrassed. We have been practicing this for months and it is so disappointing...and to make matters worse I saw a comment on a facebook page saying they had wasted that entire hour (they were in the audience) on Sunday Morning...oh...I am sad. I know it was bad but I felt like crying after I read this...I joined it for fun..for Christmas and now I am regretting it. We are to perform at the Christmas eve service but I don't think I can show my face in the choir again...In all the practices we had we have never had any of these problems and it was just...well....terrible.
This is not the way I wanted to feel after performing for the church...I will not be a part of the Christmas choir next year...
I wish people would be more generous when something like this happens and try to encourage each other...Merry Christmas??? Well...it didn't feel like it yesterday.
(not sure where I got the graphic or I would give credit for it...sorry)
Blessings...until next time.

So sorry it turned out that way! Hopefully things will be much better when you sing Christmas Eve. Hold your head high and don't worry what others may say. It's the spirit of Christmas. Bah, humbug to those who don't view it that way! :)

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! ~~Annie

Hi Dianntha.. I am so sorry to hear this happened. As you know I am part of a theatre company and we practice and practice and if anything happens on the night we hope the audience can forgive our mistake, although it does make you mad too as you know they can do it right...why not on the night? Maybe find another Choir group next year. It would be a shame not to take part in something that is supposed to be fun.. I hope things are better if you sing with them again... maybe first night nerves? Wishing you best of luck and enjoyment xxx

Ps.. No outfit as yet, but I am still looking for it into the new year!

So sorry! I feel really bad for your choir director, what a terrible day it must have been for him (or her).
At any rate, even though it was not a great experience, I think you should be proud of the fact that you supported something worth while. I'm sure there were many who appreciate all the time the members put in, to try and bring something special to the Christmas Season.
Have a Merry Christmas!

The graphic is beautiful! Diantha, I would be hurt by other's comments also, but you know, you should all be proud that you are a part of something beautiful. I can't think of anything better to particpate in, than a church choir. The person who make the comment on facebook, I would wonder if they were ever a part of anything in their life? Ignore them, and do what you love, and don't worry about what other's have to say. Merry Christmas to you, hugs, michelle

Sorry to hear about the Christmas flub. Bless you for doing your best! Hey Di, just a note to you about the crab salad recipe I had on the blog. I forgot to add mayonnaise to the ingredients list. Just wanted you to know. I did correct it tho.

I'm so sorry to read this! Where is the Xmas spirit that should fill every person attending this church choir?!
The director must have been so stressed out. Poor man.
Don't let that put you out, just take time to think about it before you make a decision.
I had a great time reading your posts, as always.
Lots of hugs and enjoy the season, sweet Dianntha.
