Christmas snaps of the living rm. and the yellow sofa too.

Here are a few more pictures of the living room, of course you have already seen the far end which has the fire place with the stockings...this is an overview of the rest of the room...and last month you saw the red checked sofas..so I didnt add them to the pictures this time...at the bottom you will see the new yellow sofa..

I needed a chair to go with my new sofa and love seat. They are both red checked and I had kinda wanted a red flowered chair. I wasn't sure but that was what I had in mind. As you know, dh has been out of work since September so I wasn't about to go to the furniture store for a chair. Well, my sister is a big fan of craigs list so she decided to look or a chair there..to go with my furniture. She found this wonderful yellow chair. i was not too excited about yellow but we made the trip to a suburb of Columbus ( about 1 hr. drive) to look at the chair. It turned out to be a yellow checked chair with a wonderful footstool. They were only a few months old and the girl was moving so she had to sell them. I wanted the chair and I also bought the coffee table and end stand...all for the price that was less that the price of the footstool if it were brand new. She wanted me to take the sofa but honestly...I didn't need the sofa...if you look back a few post I just got new red checked furniture from my sister ( who bought them on craigs list and then decided she wanted a different look in her living room).
After we were home..we were wondering why we did not buy the rug she had...it was wool and went so well with the furniture. We knew she was leaving soon so we called and she still had the rug so we decided to make the trip back to pick up the rug. When we got there she still had the sofa and it was on Sunday and she flew out on Tuesday..very early. She still wanted me to take the sofa...she just bought it this summer for over $600...she did bring the price down to $400...but not enough...as we talked she said...how about $200...now that was the deal I was waiting for so once again we loaded the van and headed home...this is the new sofa.

..that I didn't really need..but for the price I just had to put it in the van and bring it home with me. I knew right away that I would have to move a lot of furniture around before it would all fit but I think it turned out ok..and after Christmas I will have even more space to see if I want it somewhere else.
So I ended up with the sofa, chair, footstool, coffee table, end stand and rug...for very little money. I do not need a single thing more...God is good.

Hope you enjoyed this round of pictures the bathroom and kitchen are yet to come and then, well, who knows....until then be blessed.

Hi Dianntha!....wow you sure did get a deal!....I love the style of that sofa and it looks like a nice one! Plus, you can always turn around and sell what you decide you don't want on craigslist. I have sold several things on there myself recently....you have to be careful though, there are alot of scammers who answer the ads!

Congrats on the new furniture!

I am in love with your home! I would love to have that kind of furniture! We did buy new furniture last weekend, but it's a camel color, so I can do anything with it. I want red checked draperies. Your Christmas decor is beautiful! I wish I could get my stuff out! Maybe when my hubby comes home from Madison this weekend we will get busy! Hugs, michelle

I have missed THE posts I shouldn't have missed, the kind that warms the heart and soul, and cheers the spirit.
It's late now in France but I'll be back soon (hopefully tomorrow) to read and click on each and every pic and just take some time to ENJOY...
Thanks so much for sharing, Deanntha.

Love the Christmas you are sharing everything looks so pretty. I love the crocks with the trees. I'm on the lookout for one, but I tell you they are so pricey. Your Father Christmas is wonderful...I always enjoy my visits, especially at Christmas....hugs
