Now that the back porch is almost decorated I have to return to the kitchen. Again, we are making small changes to update the kitchen at this time with homes that eventually we will remodel and put in new cabinets. Last week I posted pictures of my dh taking down the plate rail and most of you agreed that it was a major improvement. So I am moving on the door handles. The one on the left, the black one is what is on all the cabinets right now. I put them on about 1 1/2 years ago. I am thinking about changing them to the one on the right..a brushed nickel handle. So which do you like??? So far I have only purchased just this one until I decide. And don't worry about the black handles, if I do change they will go into one of our rental properties.
I also had dh run some electricity about the cabinets so I could put a small light on top...this is what it looks like right now...just a small night-light bulb that I leave on all the time.
I love the design on the ceiling and it just adds a homey touch. It is white as are most of the decorations that are going into our kitchen.
I also decided to put away all the spices and add a little whimsy...
So there you have it, not much excitement but a little fun. So I am off to church and then resting...well..after a 2 mile walk...resting..before the next thing. Be blessed.

Small changes can have big impact.
Lately I am more about taking AWAY to improve my decor. Less is more.
I know that layering and vignettes are all the blog rage but for me, I just can't LIVE with things stacked and displayed for great lengths of time.
I love it one day and then the next, I've removed it all and cleaned that spot.
Your 3 pretty pears are perfect for me. Love them.
I like the light and think a small light that is always on is very welcoming. I like the black cabinet pulls best and I like those white pears in the spice rack.

Love that light and the brushed nickel. Now don't scream...have you thought about painting your cabinets a creamy white? I did a number of years ago and still happy I did.
I like the black handles better!
the light is very cute and I love the white pears!

Dianntha,
I know the brushed nickel is all the rage, but I think the black hardware is best. It just pops for me!
Love the lamp.....

everything lokks great!! i am loving those pears! where did you find them?
my vote is for the brushed nickel handles. can you paint the black ones( with nickel colored paint) instead of buying all new ones?
I love those pears, so cute! I like the black handles best. I am going to spray paint my handles as they are old and ugly brass!! Got to wait until after healing from the surgery I will be having Wednesday. Love your blog!!!
God Bless~

I love the light and what a pretty design it makes on the ceiling, I like a little kitchen light especially at night it just gives the room a little glow. I like the new handle...but the black look nice too...I'd probably just leave the black handles in place. Love all your crocks...hugs, Linda
I think I like the black ones best and I really love the white pears and lamp light!
Thanks for your visit and comments - hope you get all your redecorating done for those 2 graduations!
Best wishes
Christine
I vote for the black. Very distinctive!
Love it! Everything looks so nice and homey. The lamp on the cabinet is so cute, I agree the reflection on the ceiling is awesome! thanks for sharing, Marla
I keep a lamp in my kitchen too. I do think it is welcoming. I have brushed nickel with my cherry cabinets. I like the brushed nickel and I think it would go well with your lighter look as well.
I enjoy looking at all your pictures. It's like looking at a magazine:)
