Well, here she is in all her glory and hanging in her new home. I had planned for this spot all along and I am more than pleased. She fits right in, doesn't she? Now I kinda wish my turkey had a black background too. i made him many years ago and up until now he was just about my favorite...but well...you can see what I mean.
The runner is 39 inches long and made out of wool that I found at the Goodwill. the red was purchased at the store because I could not find red at the Goodwill. The vine and the back and many of the leaves are made from an army blanket that we got at an auction.
I am so happy that this runner is complete. I must admit that it was more work than I had anticipated. I did get a little frustrated and took a break from it for a little while but now I am happy that I went back and finished it right away. Thank you for waiting so long to see it.
This pattern was taken from With These Hands by Maggie Bonanomi. It is a wonderful book and I will be making more of these patterns this winter. Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, It's beginning to look a lot like.....
Halloween, Of course...we were busy today carving this bat and...
carving Mr. Happy.....
It was so cold....my hands were freezing and so was my dd...but we were having fun.
We decided to roast some pumpkins seeds to have with our coffee to try to warm ourselves up!!
We placed the pumpkins on the front porch and I will take pictures when they are all lit up. It was a good day.
Tomorrow I will show you a picture of my table mat...totally done...but for today I leave you with a sneak peek.
Until then, be blessed!

An Early Thanksgiving
This weekend we had an early Thanksgiving and we were so fortunate that the weather was just spectacular! We had a small hay ride for the kids and lots of food and fun.
These two little turkeys had a blast and were stealing all the attention too. It was a nice day and everyone seemed to enjoy all of it.
We even celebrated an early birthday!!!And you know when it is warm enough to wear shorts in October in Ohio...it was a glorious day!
Who could resist putting a little toilet paper in the pond???
And what about making a funny face???
Well, I think you get the picture!!
For now, I have stopped the cross stitching because there just is not enough time to work on it right now. I am still finishing my table runner and will post a picture when it is completed. But for today I am cleaning and getting all the fun stuff put away for the winter...the pool is closed the tables are put away...
Now, time to think about Christmas shopping...a little at a time will do...
Blessings.

With These Hands...wool runner
Well yesterday I wanted to post my wool runner but for most of the day our internet was not working. It is so amazing how much that bothered me. There were so many things I had planned (and blogs to visit) but ...nothing. I would run back in and check it every hour...lol I think that is not a good thing!
I wanted to show you he progress I have made on my wool runner. I am going to hang it under my fireplace mantle when I get it done.
Actually, I have worked on since the photo and I am now to the next little red flower. I don't mind all the little pieces but what I don't like is all the pins I had to put in it to hold it in place while I stitch the rest. I have poked myself so many times. The name of the pattern book is With These Hands by Maggie Bonanomie she also has a book named Comfort Zone with similar patterns.
Well, I have to close for now...another day with too much to do. Be Blessed!

Happy October 1st...
It seems to be getting so hectic the last few weeks. The days are cool and crisp. This morning when I went for my walk my little finger tips we so cold...literally! I think it was 49 degrees...but it is warming to a balmy 56 today! I hav been trying to increase my daily walks to 3 miles instead of 2...and it is such a pleasure to be out in the blue skies and just enjoying the quiet of the day!
I thought I would share a few more pictures...hope you enjoy them.
This is the items I found on the clearance table at Walmart...a new shower curtain and matching rug, towels, and hooks. My bathroom is painted taupe so for each season I change it out...I am pretty excited out the change!
Could not resist showing the little gingerbread man that my Mom brought to me the other day...it isn't too early to put him in my kitchen...thanks Mom.
If you enjoy working with wool then you will like my next post. I have been working on a wool wallhanging for my fire place. It is a little slow going because there are so many pieces but I am loving it and I will share that tomorrow.
So I will leave you with a picture of my youngest dd as she is modeling her new boots...Blessings.
