My bil decided to have Christmas dinner w/out us. This is the first time in 25 years that we are not all at Christmas dinner for his parents. My mil is in congestive heart failure and the beginning stages of dementia. When my bil set the date we told him that a saturday date would not work since my dh is a saturday mailman. I guess that made no difference to him because he set the date for today and said it was just too had to switch it...mind you there are only 3 families.
I think my bil is stubborn and wouldn't change his mind because he didn't want to. He didn't even call us until wed. to say it was set for saturday....
Wh took our presents for his Mom and Dad and they did spend the day with us on Christmas....it is just so sad to think that you would want your way so much that you would exclude your own brother and his family.
I guess that is the way to end the year because you sure wouldn't want to start the year on that note.
We are doing fine and looking forward to 2008. I hope you have a safe and flourishing new year. God bless you all.

I had a little catching up to do. I love the after Christmas sales you got some great buys. I love lots of lights too, the more the better....but last year we kept blowing a fuse so we had to scale back a bit. Your snowmen are darling~perfect for all the winter time.
Sad about your bil, but I'm glad you were able to spend time with dh family on Christmas.
I've added you to the blogs I enjoy I hope this is
okay. Have a happy Sunday stay warm and cozy. Linda
I'm sorry about that....just let it slide off your back...
I do want to wish you a happy happy New Year!!
Blessings,
Robin
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I have enjoyed catching up with yours. How busy your December!! I imagine a postal worker to be extremely happy to be done with the holiday season! Sorry about the dinner. Those things can be so trying. Have a good year.
My bil and sil now do not include his parents so my husband and I do it every year for them and for his brother. The wife sil gust got worn out of doing it and with her parents ailing and one passing we do not even get together any more for either thanksgiving or Christmas, however this year they invited us to a burger joint and bought diner for the kids and us. We had a great visit and exchanged gifts in the parking lot. It was very thoughtful of them yet sorta strange.
