Pumpkins Almost Gone
I am happy to say that in just 4 days we have sold all of the giant pumpkins except the one you see with Curlie. We started with 11( you can see them if you go to a previous post). We are delighted that they are gone...that others are having the same joy that we had as we watched them grow all summer. So far everyone has been so cheerful and fun to work with as they stopped by...we are hoping that everything sells in the next 2 weeks or so. Everyone seemed to like the swan gourds...I only have one left for myself...and that's okay too! Stop by if you can!
These are the last of the small pumpkins we have for sale. We are very happy with all the people who have stopped and allowed their children to pick out pumpkins from our little farm market!

Our biggest pumpkin
My dh is such an avid gardener...he gardens for relaxation. I have been telling you about our giant pumpkins and we finally harvested all of them. He is balancing the biggest one...it weighs 101 lbs. What fun we have had watching each of them grow. Today I began mowing off the pumpking patch and discovered a few more pumpkins we had missed....but for this year the harvest if over. When I get our roadside stand set up I will post another picture so you can see how beautiful they truly are!!!

More Autumn Bliss
Since I posted a picture of our front porch I thought I would share one of the back porch too. I have continued to break out some of my fall decorations that I add to the items that are on the porch all the time. I have a collection of ann dolls that I leave out always...you can see them underneath the windows.
We did harvest our giant pumpkins last night and I will share pictures of them tomorrow. We are hoping to sell them in the front yart...we will see how that goes!

More Autumn
I thought I would share another piture from my living room. I removed some of the items from my mantle and exchanged out the flowers to give a fall-like feeling. This is actually all I will do to the mantle until closer to Thanksgiving when I will pretty much change out the entire mantle. I am really enjoying the season and all the wonderful blogs that are sharing their autumn wares too! Well, I am off..we have a wedding in the park today...it is only in the 40's right now..it is going to be a bit cool!

Pumpkin Harvest
Today we started picking our pumpkin patch. This is the first year that we planted pumpkins to sell. We also have 11 giant pumpkins that we are going to put on a different trailer...they are so heavy. Tomorrow I will wash them and separate them and the we will have to make a sign....then we will be in business...wish me luck!
Also, I did start decorating for fall but my camera battery died...so I will have to put up the pictures tomorrow!

Corner of My Home
Clarice at Storybook Woods was saying she was beginning to decorate for fall and that she loves red. I thought I would share a corner of my home to show you that I love red also. The color of the walls are miso and the bittersweet was a gift from my sister who shared her find! Everything else is a collection of things I like and have found at auctions or small stores.
I am excited about decorating my front porch for fall...so maybe tomorrow I will break out the fall decorations! Enjoy your evening!

Reaping the Harvest
I continue to work on freezing and canning food from the garden and from the local farm market! Today we bought 6 dozen ears of corn and I thought I would show you how beautiful it was once we cut it off the ear. This is only a small portion of the corn to be bagged. I have to run to the store because I seem to be out of freezer bags, again.
I have been working on making salsa, tomato juice, diced tomatoes, and pizza sauce with the tomatoes from our garden. They seem to be turning slowly even though it has been unseasonable hot. We have been picking every other day and I then I can each morning before we begin schooling and lessons. I found the little labels last year after Jody at Gumbo lily told about them. They are so cute and colorful...I know they are a little hard to see in the picture but they do add a lot to the jar if you are giving some of your canning away as gifts. I found them at the local drug store with the other canning supplies.
Well, I best be off, the girls have a Bible study to go to and I must pick up some freezer bags so I can finish this job.
I have been thinking about changing a piece of furniture in my living room and my sister is have a fit...so I thought I would take a picture of the before and after and then you can decide what you think....that will be later on ...maybe in two weeks...it is fair week this coming week and we will be enjoying the sights and sounds of the county! Enjoy!

It's the official end of summer!
Since we are at the end of the summer so I thought I would share a picture of one of my birdbaths that I will be putting away once the wind begins to blow for fall..
I also wanted to share a picture of one of our large pumpkins. It has grown so much the last 2 weeks. When the leaves begin to die I will take a picture of all the pumpkins laying in the yard. I adore pumpkins and this is the biggest patch of pumpkins we have grown yet...I can't wait to bring them to the porch to help decorate for the season.
I think I will try to decorate my porch for fall sometime this coming week and then I will give you peek.
