Birthday Gift is Fall Inspiration Challenge!

Well, I am having a Fall decorating inspiration...challenge. This is the chair and foot stool that I received for my birthday.

I love them...but how in the world am I going to make them fit into my almost all white living room??

Now I have a lot of of color in my room.

Especially now in the fall and in winter. 

I must tell you...I love so many of these decorations...but you can see most of the color is not in the furniture. But I do have an idea...I do have a red cabinet in my shed. Do I dare bring that much color into my white room??? I am debating that..should I bring in a red cabinet and replace the sellers cabinet with a red cabinet and but the chair where the love seat is now??? After the holidays I have a small room that I am going to create a haven for the chair and the cabinet...so move furniture around or leave it? I am not sure...any ideas?

Fall inspiration but looking to Christmas

I know that is is only October but I craft most of my fall things in August so by the time I get to October I am dreaming of how I will decorated for Christmas. This is a project I saw at Pottery Barn so I thought it might be fun to make some for my home.I

I had a large container of corks that I purchased at Walmart and I have been using them this fall just for a fun accent.

So I picked up a coupe of trees with glitter (of course) and decided to give it a try. I pulled the bottoms off the trees.

Then I tried to stick the tree base in the cork but that didn't work at all, it just bent the tree.

So I got in my junk drawer and pulled out a screw and began making the hole with it and this worked much better.

I wanted to post one more picture but blogger is not working for me so you will have to scroll back up to see the picture again but I hope this has inspired you to enjoy fall but be looking ahead to Christmas!

Sweater Pumpkins for Fall Inspiration

Well, today is my birthday so I am going to cheat a little and show you an old post. It is a tutorial on how I made sweater pumpkins a few years ago. I hope you enjoy this "how to" and if you  make any let me know. This was a project that my Mom and I made together. I have warm memories of this day! Fall inspiration

I just love indian corn. It signals that things are different and fall in full underway.

Our tree in our front yard is starting to show it's colors! What a beauty it is!

Day one of Fall Inspiration

A little Spray Paint for Fall Inspiration

I am still working on a few projects for out daughters graduation party in about 10 days. I wanted to do something fun for her table. So while she is in school I thought I would surprise her with her name in glitter.

I gave each letter a coat of gold spray paint.  I love the way they look!

Then a lot of glitter....wow more like what I wanted!

I did have quite a little mess with all the glitter but it was a quick clean-up. I can't show you the final outcome yet because I want her to be surprised....I will show you soon!

Burlap Wreath for Fall Inspiration

This must have been the day for projects. I have been working on a few projects for my daughters graduation party. I want to tie some beautiful tulle around each of the chairs. Now the colors don't looks so great with my chairs but the chairs at the coffee house are just wood. I have some other colors also but this is my test material. I love the sparkles. I am going tomorrow to test the length tomorrow then I will be able to get all the colors cut and ready to go.

I have been wanting to make a burlap wreath so today I pulled out my materials and got started.

Now the pins will not stay, the are just there to hold things in place until the glue dries. I am happy with the way it turned out.  I used a roll of jute to make the flowers and I left long strings. If I don't like it I can always cut them off later.

In my spare time I dug out my black paint and painted my counter top. This cabinet is actually not going to stay but until my hubby gets done working at the rentals and has time to work at home I decided to do a quick fix. Two coats of black paint and a coat or two of poly and I think it will last until he rips it out!

I was so tired of the green that was there so black is so much better. I will decorate it and put up another picture but for now it is drying. That might take a while because it is cold in this house...cold and windy!
