More home improvments

 Well our decorating journey is continuing. Today they put down some new tile in front of the fireplace. We are going to build a new fireplace in front of the old one because I do not love the bricks that are on this one. The tile are a lighter color than the picture shows but when the grout is in.

  This is how the floor looks now that they are done. All the molding is complete too. So Thursday I am hoping they are done so I can move the furniture into place. Why does it seem like things have been so slow???? I will share more in a few days when they are finished!!!

Flooring Almost Done

 The flooring is coming along. This is day three and it is noisy and dusty and dirty but the floors are beautiful. They think they will finish today with the flooring but the trim might have to be on Monday.

This is the foyer and you can see what they have left to do....I just can't show you what my living room looks like since all the furniture is pushed into there. I can tell you that if you have seen the show Hoarders then you have an idea of what it has been like for three days...I am trying to not let it bother me but it is terrible.
  They will be back next week to put the carpet in the living room...now that will be a good picture to show.

New Flooring has Arrived...finally

   This is what my living room is looking like today. A few days ago our new wood floor finally was delivered and tomorrow we start the process of getting new wood floors.We have been waiting about
6 weeks so I am excited but I am also so tired. I just want them to be done.

This is a close up view of the floor. It is actually darker than it looks. The  painting has been done for quite some time so it will be about cleaning after the floor is installed. I will be happy to get back to decorating when this is done. Since the walls were painted I haven't really decorated since I knew everything would just be a mess so instead the walls are bare and I am bored with that,
  I have been searching for some new curtains and I never dreamed they would be difficult to find. I can't even find material that I like so I could make them. But I will continue the search while I decided about furniture placement. Anyone want to come and play and rearrange. The flooring should be done some time next week.
  I actually just got back from a short vacation...I cant believe I would leave with my home in such a mess but I needed a little break so off I went...just in time for the flooring to arrive.
  We still have furniture to move and I am exhausted. Today I have been missing my Dad...first one without him...so a few tears...he always came over to eat on the holidays. I will keep you posted as the progress continues this week...there is so much more to tell.

Buyer Beware Simmons Mattress

 I wanted to share our experience with our Simmons mattress. We purchased our Simmons mattress a few years ago and fell in love with it. It is a pillow top mattress and it was so comfortable. Just recently we noticed that there was a dip in my hubby's side of the bed right at the hip area which was enough to cause him discomfort. I got out the paperwork and to make this story shorter...someone came out..yes it was defective .BUT...... since my hubby sweats when he sleeps (and yes we have a mattress cover on the bed) their is a slight brown stain...it voids the warranty. The stain is so slight that the man who was here asked me if it was a stain.
  Now, I am not going to lie and have to answer for it later...yes there was a slight stain. But that did not make the bed defective and we all know it. They told me that the very day you get a stain you have to report it....but of course it would have voided my warrant anyways.... It would have been nice to have them at least give us a discount on our next purchase. Nope. We paid over $700 for just the mattress.
  It makes me frustrated  and admittedly a little sad. It seems there is always a catch, a reason that they don't have to stand behind their product and here we are...the consumer left with disappointment. So I will move this mattress to the spare room for now and find another mattress that will suit our needs and I will ask a lot of questions, questions and more questions. But in the end all I can do is what is right.
  I will do what it takes to make our lives comfortable..so dear hubby we are in the market for a new mattress....
  On a side note...hubby is putting a new shower unit in the bathroom so by Sunday I am hoping to show you the pictures. The flooring with not be down by then but you will be able to see the shower. It is so beautiful....and I picked up a few new handles for my kitchen cabinets so I have 3 different choices on right now...they are so glam....lol. Hope you are well.
