Busy Day
Oh Ladies, I've had a busy day and got acutally nothing done. I did four loads of laundry, filled the dishwasher, took my daughter to the library then to get her braces tightened. Next I made chilli for the crock pot and some zuch. bread and headed to a town 40 min. away for my doctors appointment. I did return a pair of jeans for my dh because I picked up the wrong size. On the way home I rememebered that my mother was helping her sister paint the living room so I stopped by and rolled 3 of the 4 walls for them. Finally, I returned home...and like I said I actually got nothing done today...and I quess that is okay but I like to make my days productive and I feel like a did a lot of nothing today.
I normally walk each morning but somehow my morning slipped away and it didn't get done but I guess I can walk a little extra tomorrow to make upo for it. I have been counting my steps each day...I have been getting between 12,ooo-15,ooo each day. I think I should be able to do better than that so I may start my morning with a little extra walking and see what that does. I hope you had a better day...at least our weather is wonderful...I can smell the dryed leaves in the air. Isn't it heavenly?

Finishing touches
Okay...this will be the last of the bathroom pictures...I know you must be getting bored with it...we put up the new light tonight and then the new gingerbread trim...it looks like it has always been there. I am enjoying playing with the decorations and I have a few ideas but they will take a little more time to finish so until then I will try to come up with a new topic....I don't think you can see the curtain very well but it is really beautiful...the bathroom is becoming so calm...and I am happy with the results so far.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
This picture may seem blurred but I think that it really is the reflection of the lights and the flash and the mirror...snyways, I think you can get an idea of the color of the wall paint. It is a really warm taupe...it makes the bathroom seem so large.
I was at an auction this summer and I found some wonderful old Christmas ornaments. These are the kind I would have seen on my grandmother's tree. I love the ones that are indented...oh they are so beautiful that I couldn't leave them in the box for one more moment....so since I am redecorating my bathroom why not put out some of my decorations at the same time.LOL.. the bathroom is going slow because my hubby is finishing fixing up our rental so there has not been time to hang my new light or other things...I am hoping after I feed him a nice supper he will want to work on it for a little whilt...we will see. I think you can see a little of my new curtain in the background too.

A sneak peek
This is a sneak peek of my bathroom...well kinda....how about a sneak peek at my new holiday towels!
This is a picture of the mess I had on Saturday...thank goodness after two coats of paint I have a calm and wonderful color on the walls.
I hope this gives you a little clue as to what is to come...I will try to do some finishing touches so you can get a real look around...enjoy your evening.

Pictures of the old....
This is the top border that I put up to co-ordinate with the wallpaper and middle border. I guess I am just tired of the country theme...the "stuff" that goes with it.
This is a picture of the middle wallpaper border that was in my bathroom. I had a red, white and blue theme only because the stripes were already there when we moved in so I just added two borders. It had been okay till now but I love change and this bathroom was my target!
My Sweetest Day flowers
I promised you a picture of the roses that my dh gave me on Sweetest Day. When he does bring me flowers he always has the florist put in three yellow roses that represent our three daughters. I adore them and will be hanging them upside down to dry when they start to fade....they really are beautiful and I feel really blessed.

Happy Sweetest Day
My DH brought home a dozen roses and presented them to me with a kiss....he is such a sweet heart. I wanted to share a picture of them but blog spot seems to be having an issue with posting images right now so it will have to wait.
I also had some pictures of my bathroom before and after....the paper is stripped the paint is drying...the decorting will be next. I am pleased with the way it has turned out so far.
I also purchased my holiday towels for my downstairs bathroom...I adore them but of course I can't share of picture of them either....patience...patience...I am working on that.
I had a wonderful saturday ...I am tired from all the painting. I am thinking that I may put off stripping the wallpaper off my bedroom until after Christmas. I am beginning to concentrate on Thanksgiving and maybe it would be a nice winter project!!! Well, I will return tomorrow and see if I can't get some of the pictures posted!

Fall cleaning...
I am continuing on with my fall cleaning. I did finish the living room this week and it feels so much better...just decluttering and cleaning...moving the furniture around...ect.
I also cleaning off the counter tops in the kitchen and rearranged things...declutter...
But last week I was at Sherwin williams and purchased the paint for my bathroom and bedroom...soooooo I started stripping the wallpaper, what a mess...but it was time to redecorated. This bathroom had wallpaper on it when we moved in and I bought two borders and added them to the stripes. But after seven years of red, white and blue...I am ready for a change. I took before pictures and during pictures...I will be taking the finished pictures I HOPE on saturday...that is my target anyway. I would have had more of it done but today is roller skating with the home school group and we didn't want to miss it. So, as of right now, I have the bathroom half stripped and plan on taking off most of the rest when we return later this afternoon.
So for now, no excitment here...just elbow grease and sticking to the task at hand. Have a wonderful Friday!

This and That
I was too busy this morning to finish my post so I thought that I would post again. First, I would like to say Happy birthday to Bittersweetpunkin! I hope you had a wonderful day...please do tell! And I also wanted to thank her for nominating me for a Make Me Smile Award. You made my day. I will be nominating others too.
Today is my birthday and I have been taking it nice and easy. I walked this morning, I worked outside since it is so warm and breezy, I went out to eat with my two youngest daughters. My mother brought over a birthday cake a little while ago and my hubby is cooking supper before the girls are off to church. I'm having a wonderful day... if the picture comes through...I wanted to post a picture of our outdoor room...all ready for fall. I am really enjoying the weather and this is a nice spot to read a book or just relax....I sit here often!
New Chairs for the kitchen..what do you think?

Star Award
This award is for bloggers who shine their light throughout the Blogosphere. Some do it with humor, others with creativity, and others with their kind and thoughtful natures. We all know more than a few of them so why not give them some recognition?
A few weeks ago, Donetta, awarded me with a "star"...I am so honored. At the time we were having a lot of problems with our internet connection so I was unable to post much and was not able to respond to this kind lady. Today, our internet is going at a little faster pace so I will try to respond now before I get disconnected.
When I first read about this award I will tell you that my first thought was that a star is a ball of fire that just keeps burning, and burning....My hearts desire is to be a ball of fire for the Lord...to never let my flame grow dim or my resolve to waiver for Him. Honestly, that was my first thought and I am going to go with it!
Now, to nominate 5 others....Storybook Woods, Vaughnville, Gumbo Lily, My Yellow Farmhouse, My Red Door. Hope you all have fun with this! And thanks to Donetta for being so patient!

Feed Sacks
I am having trouble posting the close-up picture so I will try again later...
I had been telling some of my friends about the feed sacks that I picked up at an auction this summer. I had been considering making curtains out of the sack that had a brown trim....I also have some with blue and green...anyways...the curtains are done. My mother made them to not only perfectly fit my windows but the stripes are in the most wonderful spot....I am blessed by her talents!

7 things you might not know about me
Meggie has tagged me to tell 7 things that I think you don't know about me.
1. I taught 8th grade literature for 13 years in the public schools.
2. I seriously consider what I want to trade my life for each day...my time for what?
3. That I like vanilla more than chocolate.
4. I love sitting on our porch swing even though I really did not want to put it out on our new front porch!
5. I thought I would have more money by the time I was married this long.
6. I didn't know I could be loved as much as I am loved.
7. I miss having a close circle of friends to spend time with...just hanging out.
Meggie, I know I should show a link back to your name but I am still working on figuring out how to go about that...lol...live and learn. Be patient with me!
