Look Familiar? And update on my Mother!

Does this look familiar? Yes, another winter storm this week but this time we are getting 10 inches. I know it is hard to tell but we are not able to shovel all that snow so we will have to have someone come in with a snow plow this time and clear it out. We are getting such high winds that we will have to wait before we can even do this.
The snow is now covering most of our windows, as you can see. It is beautiful but it makes it seem even colder that it is. Someone mentioned that maybe we should just enjoy the snow...I am trying! lol
I think I am going to go outside later and get a few snowy pictures so I can show you just how beautiful it really is!
This is the progress I made on my start...I know...not much but today I will have time to work on it a little more. It has been an easy stitch so far and I am enjoying it!
And for those of you who were/are praying for my Mother...thank you so much. The tests results did not show any of the nasty things that were suggested and her pain is greatly reduced. So far now we are praising Jesus for His healing in those areas and are waiting to see if there is anything else that needs to be treated!!
Blessings to each of you, dear sisters in Christ. My sole is so energized by your sweet blessings!

La-D-Da start...and more snow....

So tiresome...yet another storm. this is the beginning...freezing rain and sleet.
Hours later we finally got the snow. I did get much worse than this but it was too dark to take the pictures.
Now we are starting to dig out again....I think we have about 6-8 inches...but another storm is on the way. About this time of year I am wondering why I live in Ohio????
Ok..it is pretty and it isn't very cold and I did get to spend time with my youngest shoveling!
During the storm I decided it was a good time to start a new pattern so I decided on La-D-Da The Totin' Hare. I am using Joblin , dusky green, 28 count. I am using the  NPS floss for the first time but I do think it is easy to use.
Well, Iam off. I have a lot to do today to catch up and I would like to do a little more stitching. Enjoy your day.

Mini Bathroom Make-over

After posting a few days ago about my bathroom make-over I thought I would show you the results. This is only a mini make-over because there is no demo and no painting, just decorations. I have never really gone for a beach feel but I love the colors so here we go.
This is one of my favorite areas. I thought the reflections were awesome but you might like it better without so here is another shot.
There you can see it without the light.
This is a shelf that stays up..and most of the time the metal design stays up too.You can see in the mirror that the self is across the room and shows in the reflection.  The bird is a contribution from my sister. In real life it actually looks better than you are seeing...hummm.
This is close to the shelf...an oak dresser that hold our unmentionables. Both candles are suppose to have a star fish but the clerk must have broken one when she bagged it so I will have to replace it this week but you get the idea.

I left the tag on the basket because I wasn't sure if it was too much clutter but I do love the colors..here is another view.

Now you can get a better idea. That is the shower curtain on the left so this basket is very close. What are your thoughts?
If you have been following in then you know this is the bathroom I am always decorating but I wanted to get a start before summer since our our youngest graduates this summer. This is one bathroom that many will use as well as my Paris bathroom that I finished last spring.  Tell what you think...I can always change my mind and take it all back. I love the pop of color that's for sure. Be blessed. (ps keep praying)
I have joined in at Metamorphosis  Mondayhttp://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ take a look at the wonder things going on there.

Thank you...and Spring Cleaning

First, I would like to thank all of you who are joining me in prayer for my Mother. I am blessed to have sisters in Christ share this prayer time with me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
When I am stressed I often spend time cleaning to burn away that extra energy. This is my foyer and I decided to tackle it. I had left up my garland and red and silver glass ornaments for Valentines day so down they came and cleaning commenced!!
With that done I have 12 rooms to go...but for today I am headed out to church for some nourishing of the soul. Be blessed

Will you join me in prayer???

If you pray to the One True God, Jesus, would you join me in prayer? My Mother is in Florida for the winter and has been very ill. We do not know what is wrong but  she is having tests done and we should know something next week. Would you join me in prayer for healing from the Great Physician? I believe in the power of prayer and I know many of you do too.
I am blessed to know that you are there praying with me. My Mother is a kind, gentle person and a believer. She would be astounded  to know that strangers would be willing to pray for her...but you aren't strangers to me...you are sisters in Christ!!! Bless you all.

Beginnings of a make over and a early Valentines present

A make over is coming to my bathroom...no demo, no painting, just a make over of color and maybe even a little furniture. I will give you a little taste of what is to come.
I know what you are thinking because I was thinking the same thing. I am not a beachy kind of girl. But if you live near a Kohls and you get a chance, take a look at this decor..well..it is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the 30 plus inches of snow we have had so far so...this is just a little of what is to come. I have a very neutral paint color and shower curtain and everything else is white so with just a little effort I can make a big change.
I am still coming up with a plan for the kitchen. Sometimes it is so frustrating when you have a vision for the way you want it to be but you don't get the co operation that you would like to have. I guess that story is for another day but I am still working on some ideas. I will share when I get my thoughts gathered.
I also had a makeover. My sister took me to Merle Norman and we both had a makeover. We laughed until our sides hurt, just too funny. When I got home I took numerous pictures of myself but I could not get a shot that wasn't blurry. Actually, I looked pretty good....lol. I have to stop back tomorrow and if I can get her to take a picture for me then you will get to see the new me!!!
And this is my Valentines day present...blue topaz...I am so sorry that the picture is blurry but I was taking it will my left hand and I was shaky for some reason. It is just beautiful and I picked up the little band to go with it. What do you think?
Well, tomorrow is the day, do you have your presents bought for your love. I got something for each of the girls but I gave it to them already so tomorrow is really no big deal for us. Hope your dreams come true.

Displays for the Bridal Show...

This was our display for the bridal show at a local college. We had a great time getting things ready and meeting all the engaged girls...brides-to-be!!! Our gift store is called Bella's Gifts and we displayed a wide range of bridal gifts along with tons of beautiful jewelry.  If you are in Findlay, Ohio stop in on Front street for a visit.
This girl was our show stopper. She is filled with Pick Up Sticks Charms and most show-goers could not stop looking at her. We had such a fun time making the charms into a dress pattern. There are necklaces for her sleeves and bracelets for her skirt.

What fun we had, wish you had been there but we have much more at the store and of course...we would love to see you!!! Bella's gifts 124 W. Front Street, Findlay, Ohio. Be Blessed!

Winter Wonderland Continues

I often show you pictures of my front porch or out my back door but this time I went upstairs and opened the window so I could show you a bigger view of our weather. This has been the scene for most of the winter. We had 20 inches of snow in January and so far another 13 in February. It never quite gets melted before the next little storm heads our way. The beauty of this is it makes the days brighter since we rarely see the sun. But right now there is a layer of ice under the snow so it is difficult to walk. It was lightly snowing when I took this picture.
In this picture I am still in the same spot but moved the camera to the left so you could see my little building in relationship to the other buildings and our home. Again, it was snowing and it made everything look a little foggy.
Today I am headed to the Bridal show. The gift shop that I work in is participating and I am hoping we have a nice turnout. I am taking my camera so you will be there with me...I am hoping to get some interesting shots of our merchandise for you to see....maybe you will be there???
Until tomorrow, stay warm and be blessed.

Working on X stitch today!

Since there is so much ice and snow outside I decided to dig out an old WIP and see if I can't get it finished. I started this project many years ago for my middle daughter but when I finished the face she was unhappy so being a good mother...I threw it away and started over. Well, after a short time I put it away and that was it...but today it is back and I am ready to get moving on it. It is called This Year's Tree.
Sorry the picture is blurry...but it is from Treasures  Summer 1993 issue....it is super cute.
It is very windy and cold here today and we are getting a few more inches of snow. I will post a few pictures once the storm has ended....we are warm and comfy so I am not complaining!!! Until next time, be blessed.

Amazed

I have had this song stuck in my head all morning. We sang it on Sunday morning and I just have been imagining what it must be like to have Jesus dancing and singing over us and we are so oblivious to it. If you don't know this song please go to youtube and listen...it is so beautiful when you think about the words. Here are some of the words but listening is so much better....

You dance over my while I am unaware
You sing all around but I never hear the sound

Lord I'm amazed by you
Lord I'm amazed by you
Lord I'm amazed by you , how you love me
How wide, How deep, How great is your love for me!

Lord I'm amazed by you, how you love me!
